Hey guys, due to some hardships.....I can't afford to get the Vox or COD now. I am going to have to stick with the Bassman as my only lower gain module for now. Has anyone tried boosting it with a pedal for another flavor???? I am wondering how it would respond. I might be able to pick up a used Xotic BB or something.

Thanks.

Get the BB. Its great with everything. Absolutely kills into channel A of COD, but it works very well for me with everything from Bman to EG5. Definitely my favorite smooth overdrive pedal.

I am hoping it gives me another flavor into my Bassman and also with the E-Rect(w/ gain dialed back).

I won't be able to get a COD or Vox till year end so I hope this will keepme busy. If it doesn't work I'll be getting the Creation audio Labs Holy Fire. I think they make the best pedals.

Speaking of the COD. How you digging that Matt? Never heard what "you" thought of it compared to what I did with my quick demos of it.

Absolutely love it. Its a module that would absolutely never fit with my band, but I have styles I like pursue outside of that and for the Two Rock / Dumble / SRV / John Mayer thing, it is PERFECT. For me, it works best with a Strat loaded with great single coils (Suhr V60LPs), with channel A boosted by Xotic BB Preamp. Then, a little bit of psuedo-reverb from TimeFactor and its just outrageous.

Its the one module for me that absolutely feels and sounds like a completely different amplifier. It really feels almost class A. Sure, the SL2, E-Rect, and EG5 are all unique, but they still sound and feel distinctly Eggy. The COD, to me at least, really feels and sounds like something else all together. Absolutely killer!

Dude, also Ill reply to your PM. Just havent had enough time lately. You have some really valid points that we might be acting on, so thanks!

From what I've heard, its kind of a different animal than the BB.

I tell ya, the BB ain't broke, so don't fix it. If youre BMAN already has 2 channels, then you probably don't need a 2 channel BB.

Just my 2 cents.

That's awesome man. I use it a lot for bluesy stuff, or use it with a phaser or univibe pedal and delay and get that "Robin Trower" tone :). I even use the COD in my heavier rock stuff from time to time. There's nothing that screams Texas Blues for me more than the COD module. COD ChB with a tad of slapback delay screams Texas Blues for me :). I love it! I totally agree it feels and sounds like a completely different amp. Has more traditional fender vibe (ala Super Reverb) with a killer OD or tube screamer type pedal. I loved my old Fender Super Reverb, but man it was heavy as hell!!!

No worries about the PM. I just thought I pissed you off or something :). I am glad to see I didn't do that. Hope my recommendations help. It's just what I heard when I listened to it.

If you want to ever talk live about stuff man...let me know...i'll send you my cell # :).

You guys try the BB+? Worth the extra cash?

The BB+ is magic in front of the Eggie modules. I've never owned a regular BB but I am kind of curious to buy one and compare it. The BB+ A channel though... wow!

This is going to sound ridiculous but I didnt even try the BB+ because its too big and pedal board real estate is of critical importance. To be honest, I dont even consider a pedal if its larger than a boss size. I dont care if the pedal makes you sound like Jesus Christ himself playing through a Trainwreck.

My Nexus is the size of four Boss pedals and makes me walk on water! :D

You know those are questions only you can answer :D Are you thinking out loud again rich

One is better for one thang and the other is better for that thang.

The Zen is teh ultimate in touch sensativity. You can pick real light and clean and quiet and then hit hard and it roars!

3 Mile, I think the BB is pretty touch sensitive. I just got mine!!!!! Do you have the Zen with the tube? I wanna know if anyone tried the Holy Fire.

John, is that the BB into those modules?
John, have you tried the others like the Holy, Zen or BB?

Richedie, I've only played the Zen from that list. Totally prefer the Precision over it.
