I want to replace the BB2 in my 57RI with something medium to high output and very well balanced. Any suggestions?

The JB sounds real good in huge mahogany body guitars like a Les Paul.

for those of you using a jb in bridge, what do you use in neck?

I always thought that the Gibson 500T was sweet. But yeah the Seymour Duncan JB, Custom Custom, 59. Dimarzio Super Distortion, Tone Zone, Evo 2, PAF Pro.

Not something many people try but, an Air Norton is the neck position of an LP is :inlove:

I've really been thinking about the JB or the Custom Custom. I liked the JB in my Jackson I had, and a lot of people seam to like it in their LP's. Maybe I'll try one in there.

Duncan: Custom or EVH
Dimarzio: EVO 2
WCR: Fillmore, Darkburst or Shredder

Took the 500T out of my Paul, replaced it w/ Rio BBQ - sounds 10x better IMO - way more clarity. Still I want to try a Distortion or a Custom in there as the BBQ is a tad hot sounding.

Bare Knuckle Pickups:

Mule for more open/vintage
VHII for clear/transparent/neutral
BlackDogs for more of a rock mid grunt
MiracleMan for way out heavy fun

I have three LP Customs and this is what I have in them:

'73 LPC - '59 Neck, Custom Bridge. This is an excellent combo. The Custom is a little bright but it is not harsh. Plenty of output.

'76 LPC - '59 Neck, Distortion Bridge. More output and a little more snarl than the Custom. Very nice.

'89 LPC - '59 Neck, Bareknuckles Nailbomb Bridge. Don't let the name fool you, the Nailbomb is about the same output as a JB and has an Alnico 5 magnet. Think a way more balanced JB with tighter bottom end. Excellent pickup.

Jeff beck for me. I like the stock neck pick up. {498?} I wire the pick ups out of phase. It makes more of a of a strat/tele type tone (not really). I never liked two humbuckers on much till I started wiring it this way. Its great leads for but clean is where it shines. Making a very different tone to work with.

BKP Cold sweat best bridge pickup i have ever used, its like a bit fat clear punch in the face

If you need any Duncans, hit me up at the store in my sig and I'll hook you up!

If you go with a JB dont get a "trem spaced" version. I think they sound like crap and not like the normal spaced JB.

Wow!

Really?
I was wondering/thinking the same thing recently and thought "no, it's just in my head"...
