Disturbing that you can have a bushfire in the middle of winter that destroyed so many buildings. Very unseasonal. Normally here in Australia winter has less of a bushfire risk.

The high winds that are preventing firefighting aircraft from operating are bad news. That's a massive setback in getting control of the fire.

I will take bushfire, you can have my 20 fucking below zero.
This is our bushfire season being the middle of summer. California though is in the middle of winter. That's crazy.

Southern California doesn’t have winter. I was body surfing on Christmas Day 1985 in Venice.
It's the same as our winter - same lattitude. 34N vs 34S. It'd be rare to have a terrible bushfire like that in our July for example.

Well California is run by the children of hippies. They don’t believe in logging or responsible forestry. And they don’t have water.

I always laugh when leftists make the claim that California is funding poverty stricken red states. The amount of federal dollars they get in disaster relief and water, stolen from other states, has to be staggering. Earthquakes, fires, drought. I wish they’d fucking cede already.

Also the San Andreas is all their fault (pun intended)

It's political.

I'm sorry for those who are suffering in Cali now; but there are many who voted for this, and will continue to do so.

The elected politicians, government agencies and bureaucrats are elected and paid to manage the state. Decades of demoncrats in charge and DIE policies supported by a majority of California voters in the coastal cities have consequences.

Fact: most of the land area of California is not demoncrat; it's the coastal cities with high populations that keep the state blue.

The demoncrats in charge of the coastal cities, counties and the state also refuse to allow the state to be split into two states. The New California movement has been trying to do this through legal means for over a decade.

Look back in our history, there are many examples of states splitting into more than one state; there is a legal process and precedent to do this, but the demoncrats in charge of Cali, and Oregon, won't allow it.

Something like 17 million cut from the firefighters budget. Programs to get more LGBTQ and gay firefighters. Laws prohibiting cutting of underbrush. It’s a disgrace.

You think this is a land grab? Pretty much the most premium real estate in the county is burning. They get the Lahaina treatment and the insurers don't pay out? A bunch of them cut fire from the policies just weeks or months ago. Good morning Floyd.

look into rare earth materials in North Carolina, in areas hardest hit by the hurricane, and ignored by FEMA/Feds
