Junior apprentice cable cork sniffer here
This is actually a pretty interesting thread for me. I have George L's on my pedal board and they sometimes pop if they move or sometimes I have to wiggle one to get things up and running again. I probably did something wrong putting them together. Anyway, I want to roll my own and after reading all of this, I have two questions:
1) I'll get Canare cable and use the GS6 for at least the guitar lead, however, does it make sense to jump down to the GS4 for the pedal board since it appears to be a little bit more flexible? Or should I just go GS6 all the way and don't worry about it?
2) I know Neutrik has a good rep, but haven't heard about G&H too much and wonder if one or the other is easier to work with or built better?

Anyone tried the silent plug for the guitar lead (ok, that is three questions)?

1. yes, use GS4 on the pedal board. Bundled GS6 gets REALLY thick, REALLY fast.

2. Switchcraft silent jacks are the greatest thing since sliced bread. I won't NOT use them now.

Just ordered some colossal. thanks for the link!

Just received my Colossal Modern Classic cable on Saturday. After playing with the Colossal Modern Classic & the cables I have been using, Gepco XB20UB, which I consider a really good cable for the money, all I can say is wow!

The sound is so open and clear and the bass is a lot tighter.

The cable has this unique outer shell that seems like it last forever.

The build quality & sound are definitely worth it!
