I hope it's a good amp. I need to keep my SLO fresh for gigs.

Good idea... keep the good tone at home and the crappy tone for the audience. After all you dont want to waste the good tone on an audience who cant appreciate it.

Oh wow. I think I have been dis'd. The CCV has a lot of work to do to keep up with the SLO.

We'll see. I'll own both soon and let ya know.

Not me. I opted to wait till the smoke cleared. It's all in fun Gary. ;)

Well, they will be totally different and I would be disappointed to find any SLO in a CCV. I am actually hoping to find some of the Mark modded Jose/Aldrich in the new CCV. Keep the SLO/CCV combination and cover alot of ground with those two heads. If the new CCV can do this, then it will help me clean some more amps out of the cave. I know the SLO is gonna stay in the gig rack but the other spot is open between the CCV or my Jose or Aldrich. I still have my new Kitchen Sink which is waiting for me when I get back too.

What about the Snorkler?

Rob, Any more news? I know you were assured the boards would be completed on Monday. Chassis are due in today. How long will they need to assemble and test? Granting that the rest of the builds go smoothly are we looking at two to three more weeks approximately? It may be in your interests to offer an eta. This way guys will get their money right if they need to do any shuffling.

Gee Gary you read my mind....wondering the same things? I'm trying to keep cool during this wait.
Hope it's not much longer. Any updates would be appreciated along with an ETA on shipments.

What the hell are you guys talking about?! Mine was delivered on Wednesday!

I best not jest. Rokker will fall outta his rocker in confusion.......

Nope, I'm still here, waiting....

Where'd you get that pic of me....that's about right. I have a back on my chair.
Definitely ready for the CCV! Or make that beyond ready.

I would buy used.... like when the used prices are 20% off the new price... or around $2,700. It also depends on how they sound too ;) :D

This makes me laugh a little Dave. Why are you so convinced that a post-Brad CCV will sell used for 20% off the new price? The fact of the matter is, the market price will be dictated by supply and demand. If the CCV truly lives up to the hype when it starts shipping, more people will be lining up to buy it and the wait time will still likely be measured in months. As such, a seller could potentially list one used for as much as the new ones (assuming the amp is still in mint shape) on the basis that you can have your amp today, or you can have your amp 2, 3, 4, 6 or 12 months from now. It's unlikely that production runs will become large enough to accommodate everyone's orders in a short time frame. I could be wrong, but I highly doubt it.

In this day and age, most people want instant gratification. They don't decide they want something today and then sit patiently waiting months to get it. Hence why so many guys on the forum are currently "sitting on the sidelines" to see how this all shakes out. Also, have you noticed how many guys have listed (or have wanted/tried to list) their first run spots? When months go by, interest wanes.

Bottom line is, 2 months from now when the amps are out, there will be some folks that will read the hype and listen to clips and decide they want the amp TODAY, not months later. Some of these guys will be willing to pay what it will take to get their amp fast - and that just might not be 20% off the new price. I sure as hell wouldn't start by listing mine at a 20% reduction, and I wouldn't pull the trigger on a sale quickly either. I'd wait it out until John Doe who wants the amp now or needs it as a backup on his next world tour that launches in 2 weeks is willing to pay me what I want out of it. Otherwise, I'll keep it.

Anyways, just some random thoughts. Not meaning to ruffle feathers, upset delicate sensibilities or otherwise put people on edge. I'm super pumped for my CCV, and I hope everyone else that is getting one - be it in the first production run or on the used market a few months from now - ends up being pleased with the end product.

PEACE.

Did the chassis come in on the 12th as speculated? Are the boards complete?

No offense taken  I believe Steve K posted that he thinks used CCV's will be 40-50% off new price.  I look at Diezel and Wizard amps. New they are expensive... more expensive than the CCV and they can be bought used for $2,500-$2,800 all day long.

Of course this is all moot until we "hear" the actual product ;) When that will be is anyone's guess

I hear you on Diezels and Wizards. Same applies for Soldanos, Bogners, etc. This is a bit of a different situation though. There are a TON of Wizards and Diezels that have been produced, many of which are making their rounds in the used market. In contrast, there are really only a couple of handfuls of original CCVs currently in circulation, and even after four, five, even SIX runs of the new CCV, the numbers are going to be extremely limited. Supply will be very tight, and demand could be very high.

Correct me if I am wrong, but didn't at least two original CCVs (one being Steve's original CCV) sell in the Classifieds here in just the last 3 or 4 weeks at basically the same price as a new post-Brad CCV?

It will definitely be interesting to see how this all plays out!

Cheers!

Back on topic - Gary's going to get pissed on account of our side conversation obscuring his question. :hys:

Here Gary, I'll put it up again!.....

I believe the boards are done and we will check on the chassis on Monday.
