I hate to say it but if you guys ae really looking to stop this behavior stop buying the amps!

There are plenty of other modded marshalls around.

The other option is to reverse one that exists already and get over this, nothing in there will be revolutionary. I bet it has tubes, caps and resistors...

Damn send one to nik azam already and the whole world can have them asap.
+100000

People buy Cameron's amps because they sound killer. People compare their amps to Cameron...not the other way around. Not everyone will like them, but the many that do know tone and know what I am talking about.

As for fear a Cameron amp or mod will break... I have never seen one amp problem that a competent amp tech couldn't fix. We know Mark's customer service is bad, but his amps and mods don't break. They are built rock solid...just look how often they are bought and sold. We all know how tough shippers are to boxes, yet rarely (if at all) do we hear of an amp problem. If his amps broke, nobody would want one or buy one.
Well said Dave...The bottom line is that Cameron amps do sound killer...I am very happy with my CCV....Has that unique Cameron grind that i like

My '83 JCM800 2204 Aldrich had a bad tube socket and thankfully I was competent enough to be able to replace it myself but when something goes wrong under that goop(and you cannot tell me you know 100% for certain that it will never happen on a Cameron mod) What do you do then?

I know "GooF Off" removes the goop in a Wizard amp very well.

A tube socket is simple to change (as you know). It's not as if Mark changes the entire design. He mods a set design (like Marshall)...so as I said above, any competent tech that knows amp should be able to fix an amp...with or without goop.

You dont sell your car for fear it will break do you? If it does break do you take it solely to the dealer where you bought it or do you take it to a competent tech? ;)
Right now I take my vehicle right to the dealer. It's under warranty. Are you saying that if the wah I built you breaks, you will have someone else fix it?

I guess it depends on what the goop actually is. Wizard's goop may be different from Cameron's.

He said "goop", not "goo" :jerkit:

It's human nature to want what u can't have or the girl who plays hard to get. Alot of the times we pay for the hype in the name or the rarity factor. Many times, after u score it's no big deal anymore. I do like "his" Jose mod an I think it sounds badass an better to me then the ccv

Another 50 CCV's on the market and they will be like everything else, and worth about 50 cents on the dollar. I think his Marshall mods, specifically the Ocean runs circles around the CCV as far as quality tone. No interest in the super-duper high gain Jose as it gets old quick to me and makes my ears really sore and gives me the urge to projectile vomit and break stuff. Of course, this is only my opinion. Like an asshole, everybody's got one.

No dog in the race - I sold my Cameron - loved the tone but feared any issue with future support/repair due to the goop.. but that is the right thing to do Brad!

Goop is used not to hide custom circuit mods - but to hide the fact that the mods have been copied from an amp with no goop on them. Anyone who would hand-over $3K for an amp with a gooped pcb need to check themselves into Bellview! :loco:

Seems like the wheels have fallen off the wagon since I was here last. I dont doubt that theres some guys out there that Mark owes big but seriously this place can give someone whiplash, fucking turn coat city. When Mark origionally posted that "Me" thread so many of you guys that are talking long shit here now were all "hope you feel better buddy " and "take care of yourself man, you rock!" "Call me up if you need something dude " :jerkit: Hell I got into it with a bunch of you guys simply because I didnt have a deal gone bad story to throw on the fire and I didnt want play along in all the fag tag going on.

Theres some people here that strike me as cool. But mostly :lame:

Guys,

You can discuss the matter at hand but DO NOT post personal attacks and inflammatory pictures that don't help the situation. I cant see everything but when I do I address it. Remember the Golden Rule here and be above the BS please.

Diezel Dude ..

That was the most incredible high road response i have EVER seen .the calm I would sell this to a better customer than i was just the coolest thing I have ever read and clearly 100% told me that there was no there side to the story .
Mark sounds like he is a pretty messed up dude ...too bad .as other have said he should just sell the designs to peavey or something rake in the dough and get his life back together

Ummm - not sure what you mean.. mine cost me $1800 when I got it, and I think I broke even when I sold... don't care if/what it was coppied from - it sounded great. I just did not want to have any hassles down the line IF it failed. Well - it worked - i no longer have to worry about it.
If Brad steps in and gets these coming out on a regular basis - I may take the plunge depending on price. If not, there is Voodoo, Friedman, Fortin, Bray, FJA, Suhr... no sweat.
I hope all involved get it resolved.
