Caparison just released this limited edition Horus HGS in Japan and I couldn't pass it up. They've only made a couple of them so far and probably won't make too many more either. First production Caparison model ever made with a maple fretboard.

Thanks man. Same pickup placement as on every other Horus and Apple Horn.

So the Horus is the 24 3/4" scale correct? Did they ever make a neck thru Horus or any neck thru model in the 24 3/4" scale? Gratz on the geeter.

That's probably the first Caparison that I like the looks of.

Yeah, the Horus is short scale. This one is an HGS model which means the bridge is moved back 3 mm. They only neck thru Horus they ever made was a prototype way back in '94 or '95. It was never for sale though. They have the TAT and Orbit models now which are neck thru, but both are 25.5" scale.

That's cool. I imagine they have good fret access with the way the heel is cut though. I pretty much won't buy a 25.5 scale guitar anymore. It's a shame Caps are so $$ cuz I actually think they look pretty cool for a Floyd style guitar.

Yeah their bolt on and neck thru models all have great upper fret access. The 27 frets on the Horus and Apple Horn make access up to the 24th fret crazy good. Not like I play much up there though.

EDIT: Here is the neck thru Horus prototype from '94, before they were even officially a company.

Haha! The clocks don't really show up that well on maple, so it's no big deal. The Rhoads V is cool looking, but too much. Plus it has a hosewood board. :D

Nice looking guitar, good luck when you sell it, beats working for a living
