Then why havent 1 of 16?

Because there are too many of them that I want to buy. :D

I can't afford to have a bunch of expensive guitars around, so I just keep swapping them.

You dont buy them new do you?

I've only bought two new ones, this one and a TAT last year.

It looks like furniture to me, I couldnt be less interested in that guitar, not that it matters because Im not buying it.

One of these days,I hope that guy gets around to putting a little more thought into his finishing options..

actually, there was one sponge finish that I dug because it was really subtle. I think that it was called snow cloud or something like that. It was white-ish and I think that the guitar was a horus..

Yeah, he didn't put any thought into coming up with a type of finish that nobody else uses I guess. No effort there at all. The sponge finishes aren't for everyone, but most people who like Caparisons love the finishes. Plus they have other more "normal" finishes too.

Sponges are the best!

Sponges have been used for Faux Marble and other finishes long before Caparisons came out. I wish hed put more thought into something other than obviously blotting a guitar with a paint soaked sponge, cmon there really isnt any effort there. Say what ya want but I have a problem with a finish that I can duplicate . It looks tacky and cheap as hell to me.

It would be nice to see some flame or quilt tops on the something besides the Angelus's and It would be nice to see some more interesting Graphic treatments, theres a world of cool interesting stuff that can and should be done..

How do these compare to say gmw or other small custom shops?

I don't see any other companies using sponge finishes? Nobody makes a faux marble finish on any production models. I'd also like to see you even attempt to make a half decent looking sponge finish. Itaru won't do a quilt or flame top on the Horus or Dellinger because he doesn't think the body is thick enough. Caparison is doing a ton of interesting and cool stuff, you just have some kind of vendetta against them for some reason.

Quality is top notch on them. They're extremely consistent too. I've yet to play one that didn't sound or play great. They only make about 30-40 guitars a month.

Here's my opinion from a completely nuetral standpoint. Me and Robotechnology checked out some Caparisons at Guitar Asylum last year. I thought they were decent guitars. I couldn't find any flaws on them at all, they were setup well and they did play good. The looks and headstock are not my cup of tea at all and i do feel they are a little overpriced.

As far as innovation goes, well as much as i don't like the way their guitars looks there's no doubt at all that they have their own thing going on. How many other guitars can you mistake for a Caparison? Not many at all. They are doing far more than just making Charvel, Ibanez, or ESP clones.

They're definitely overpriced in the US, that's not their fault though. Guitar Asylum marks the prices up so high just because they can. A new Horus in Japan goes for about $1300, Dellingers are about $1400, TAT's are $1600, etc.

Same, imo.
My Horus is on par with my buddies GMW, Suhr, Anderson etc...
The only thing i dislike about them is their pickups, but many will disagree.
I'm not a fanboy by any means so i'm not here to defend them.
I am not a huge Dellinger fan, mostly because i find they are boring looking, and i dont like the Angelus finishes (I HATE flames/quilts....yuck)
The Horus has it's own thing going on.

Very true.
but in caparison's defense, I also believe other smaller superstrat companies (Surh, Anderson etc...) are also extremely overpriced.

You need to try the PH-R, it's WAY better than the BH-IIR that comes in the Horus IMO.
