Even if you speak Japanese, they won't always reply. Ask me how I know. :gethim:

Ishibashi?

Also I'm still waiting on Caparison Forum's moderators to approve my account so I can buy that damn guitar. Jesus, it's been like three days already.

The Caparison Forum moves very slow. I registered on the 14th and wasn't approved until the 23rd. The guy posts on the Bmusic forum as well, if you want to contact him. I find the forum moves a bit faster, and the owner is an awesome guy.

And yes, Ishibashi in East Ikebukuro did not reply to my email typed in Japanese. Ironically, I keep going back to that exact shop in person every time I'm over in Japan.

Nice looking guitars. Never heard of them before. Some real nice finishes.

Thinking about getting one. I played one, briefly, in Japan (don't remember the model) and liked it. I'll be using it for down-tunning (full step down). I'm trying to decide if I should do it or not. Currently, I'm using a cheap Jackson Dinky that I gutted and through in an EMG 85/81 combo. It's sounds alright, but it plays awful.

Looking at the TAT II (Frozen Sky, Dark Night), Angulus TR (Trans Black) and TAT Special (Trans Black).

Do it Brotha! I love this one!

This one is awesome. Caparison are great guitars.

The purple one used to be one of Pete's (The Absence) old customs. He has some sick custom Suhrs at the moment.

What didn't you like about the ESPs? If it was the feel, Caparisons feel more like Jacksons than ESPs. The tonal aspect is too hard to comment on due to so many variables. I like my ESP and Caparisons for different reasons.

I knew I recognised it! Who does it belong to now?

Finally got in touch with him. Thanks anyway, though. :)

well, you won't be able to find an Angelus HGS, so get that out of your head. the TAT Special is findable. But expect to pay at the very least $2500 USD. At the least. Do you prefer a bolt on or set neck?

My neighbor has a nice grey angelus, and though it felt somewhat similar to a sexy Les Paul, the neck was a bit faster and more modern, and the tone, though same tonewoods (and a measure of the same weight), was more akin to a fatter ibanez. Sexy as hell guitar, but the feel made me expect a Les Paul kind of tone. They are really well made guitars, though of course, the corners made me worry. And it seems as though the Japanese love to coat their guitars with paint/gloss/cant see the wood grain, it felt significantly less plastic than the ESPs that Ive played (and Ive played a number). As far as Japanese guitars go, I think they are my favorite.

i owned a horus hgs, i can tell you it was the second best playing guitar i ever owned ,it als was the best sounding, the only reason i sold it was ,i dont gel with the 1 5/8 nut and i could really feel it on the caparison, awesome guitar

The other guitar player in my classic metal band plays a Horus. I've spent a bit of time with it and like it a lot. It has a larger neck than a lot of players would want for this type of guitar but it still plays great. Stock bridge pickup was meh but that's easily corrected...an old 80's JB really brought his guitar to life. There's a lot of hate out there for the headstock but I think its one of the coolest designs going.
