Screw TalkBass. They really are about as big of pussbags as TGP. My thread on musicians bitching about heavy gear and being weenies came from a post I made at TB the other day. In a feeble attempt to get some input on building a clone of a Marshall 1979L6 (Lemmy 4x15 bass cab) from bass players, I posted a thread there. I got like 2 posts with actual feedback and encouragement. The rest was 3 pages of "hope you have a forklift" or "that's a stupid idea, get this 1x15 lightweight cab." And of course the obligatory posts of "even though I have never built anything myself and have zero experience, I'm an expert on the subject." Bunch of fucking twerps....

There’s a couple ok dudes there. Or there were. There was a guy named Walter who hung out in the live sound sub forum who was a lot of help to me. We’re talking easily a decade ago though since I was banned.

I haven't been to TB in years, it was like a slow TGP: less activity, similar vibe.

speaking of bass, here's my Ibanez SRF700 in flat shitburst finish; it's too orange and brown for my liking, but it plays and sounds amazing:
