well, it IS a rumor. since someone said it – on another well known gear forum that i (and some other of you) frequent. that person seemed to have info from the egnater camp (i.e. namm booth).
i have no clue about shit. but it IS an interesting rumor. right?

"They also showed a Modular Head on the Namm stand. Again due later this year with around 8 Modules being available from the start........"
"The head will only hold 3 Modules.
You will be able to choose from 'around 8 of them'.
I have some images. I'll post them later."
But then he does reconfirm:
"No. There will be Modular Amps available from China later this year."
That being said, the Mod100 that they had on display was 100% USA made, that we know for a fact - because it was Aeroic's old Mod100.
Whether or not production of the Mod series moving overseas is still a rumor, at best.
I would hope so if that is the casejlbaxe":2pm3ha12 said:The only positive is it will be more affordable for most people, choice of modules might increase and cost less (depending on how they are built, might not be as easy to mod), Gives the builder more time to design and come out with new amps and would probably increase the hell out of the value of the USA versions, it would also free up the designer/builder to have more of a life and enjoy it.
I've tried for well over a month to talk to Bruce or Jeff on the phone. I even left a message that was never returned. I also sent Frank two emails w/o a reply. This was in regards to having my T/D modded to a D/D. I can get a hold of the TM side of Egnater w/o a problem. I sure hope this improves in the future.marvcus":1wr9xj7r said:This is all very interesting, speculation or not.
Whether or not the speculation is true:
1. Good for Bruce & Jeff - I wish you all the success;
2. For purely selfish reasons, I would hope the USA custom shop stays open and "as-is."
I think a big reason to go Egnater is the service that a small amp company can provide over a large-scale manufacturer. The option of being able to talk to Mr. Egnater himself or Jeff Hilligan is HUGE luxury and is, I'm sure, a main draw to the amp line. I mean, when was the last time Jim Marshall told you why he added a certain diode to the later model JCM 800s?
No matter what direction Egnater decides to go (and it's really THEIR business, not mine) I would hope that the service from the USA HQ remains how it has been in the past (save recent reports) - stellar.
