I personally think all organized religion is twisted. Making people worship something that may not exist a particular way is bent to me.

If a person wants to worship God, god or the grass outside who gives a fuck. Stop killing people over something that may not even exist.

Because we're in a time now where we know alot more than they knew thousands of years ago when many other religions were started. To believe in people from space and stuff thousands of years ago seems more reasonable to me, since nobody knew anything about anything. But now that we have science and all kinds of other crap, we know much more about most things.

We're not as smart as you think we are.

We are smarter than you think we are. Want proof? What you typing on? Stone tablets? Don't confuse the part where YOU don't know about all the advances in science with what is actually happening.

Let me back up... I absolutely don't think the scientists know everything they think they know. When they talk about how stars are created or how many years stuff in the universe is away I can't help but wonder if they really know what they're talking about.

With that said, we know a shitload more than anyone ever did thousands of years ago. That's the point I'm making.

Face it... Scientologists are creeps. :)

Yes astronomers do actually know a lot about the universe. I wont go into it but Astronomy is an incredible field and when you study you feel the delicate enormity of the universe in its full glory. I love the fact that somehow the universe is a theoretical thing, up-there, out of sight and for a lot of people, out of mind. Thing is its only 50 miles straight up. Look through a telescope at the rings of Saturn and even though describing it is boring, actually looking at it with your own eyes is astonishing!

The problem I have is that these "theoretical physicists" have theories that sometimes just can't be proven. Well, not to a dummy like me anyway.

My bottom line is that I don't really think Doctor's, scientists, etc... know as much as they think they do.

Thats fine, I have faith in science (lol!).

And FWIW, I also think alot of the other more recent religions are full of nutjobs too. For example, the Mormons.

Everything I know about the Mormons I learned from watching South Park...dumb dumb dumb dumb dumb    :aww:
