Hello,

Somebody had compared the "compensated out" on an Einstein to a Speaker simulator such as Palmer PGA04 or PDI03 ?
Are the Palmers really better for direct recording ?

Other question :
Is there a way to get the line signal without the the speaker simulation, to allow the use of a software convolution HP simulator, such as "voxengo boogex" which is really good ?

Thanks.

The Palmers have more bottom end than the comp out.

If you want to go into a software, just use the fx send (and inside the software a power amp emu).

i like the palmer a bit better. just my 2 cents

Thank you for the answers.
Regarding using the fx-send with a software, I find it a pity not to use the power amp. I will try it anyway to see the impact.
Would it be difficult to install a line out without HP simulation on the amp ?

The compensated out is not so bad, but I don't have other comparisons.
I use it with a dummy load, that allows me to crank up the master volume.
It sounds a little muddy, but the sounds is more open increasing the presence.

A line out is 1 pot and two reistors - see later Marshall 800s schematics.

8 Ohm out --> box --> cab (or load)

from box you get a line out signal.

If you really want to record some beautiful music, try one of these. I tell you, I've used this thing so much and it's just been so easy to get that speaker air without waking my family up at night.

I'd rather use this than a speaker sim anytime. I put an extra Diezel speaker in so that it sounds similar to my 2x12 FL cab.
