Considering the purchase of a triple rectifier stack - What do I need to check?

The pushed setting on the clean might sound pretty good with a boost for a more traditional rock sound

That’s one clue, but not a definitive indicator by itself. I’ve had Rev Cs with the “Loop Active” label, and some Rev Es into the high 30k range without it.

The 430s are what the shipped with stock, and it’s what the amp was designed around. They made a subtle transition to early white label 440s a few years in, and those essentially became the standard for them during the rest of the run.

I personally like the 430s in those amps made during the first couple years. I still like dropping C8s in the preamp though.

The 440s lacked balls to me. I never have liked those.

I like the original 3 channel models better than the MW as far as straight tone is concerned. MW obviously has superior options, though.
Even though I like where their head’s were at, voicing the MW brighter and more upper mids they didn’t do it in a way that appeals to me from the ones I tried. I think I would rather have the original 3 channel and build on that with an EQ in the loop etc.

I’m paying 2600 CAD which is just under 1900 USD
That's a good price for 2 4x12's and head! Bring your guitar, ask him to fire up the amp and play it. If it functions your good! FWI, because this might be your first tube amp.... always turn on the power for at least a minute or two before you turn on the standby switch.

The tightest, thickest most sludgiest tones ever to be heard from a Recto. Having stood next to those amps live is a quite the experience. No one I've heard to this day has a comparable Recto tone. It really made me take some cues from those dudes on how to run my rigs.
I haven’t seen them live in too long. Hopefully will next time they come through.
I saw Exhorder not long ago and Pat O’Brien was playing a Rev F Triple, sounded beastly.

Hmmmmm…Triple Recto stack, ST9 Pro+, Cannibal Corpse fan?
Didnt even know that's what they use! They use dual recto and metal zone's if i'm not mistaken. Might have changed when they switched to 7 strings tho!

The only reason I'd buy that is to resell the amp and one cab. As much as I like albums recorded with a Rectifier, I can't stand playing one. The 3 ch triple I had was the worst amp choice I have ever made. I tried everything to make it sound good. I'd rather have the Bandit.

You’re welcome to PM me some pics and serials. Happy to answer any questions you have on the revision and what you’re getting.
Hey man,
Couldnt figure out how to PM yet but it may be because my account is new.

Here’s my head’s serial. Hoping you can provide some details 😁

Thanks in advance!

"Considering the purchase of a triple rectifier stack...What do I need to check?"

...I'd be checking with Jeremy@GZ to see what his schedule is to get that thing modded.
