What are their tonal properties ? Bright/dark, etc?
Great all around pre tubes in my opinion. Especially for high gain. I wouldn't say their super bright but they certainly aren't dark.

The Chinese Pre has always been my favorite pre tube for high gain barring the really expensive NOS like Bugle Boys etc...

I just got 3 of the Shuguang 12AX7 A tubes from Craig.

Damn Chinese preamp tubes are difficult to find. Here's hoping that Craig has a sizeable stash of these.

I've bought quite a few tubes from him. Never a bad transaction.

The Nesstone branded EL34s on his site (tested in USA) don't indicate where they were actually produced, do you know?

I'd like to know this too.

If they're Shuguang EL34's then imma buy some of them too.

Sent Craig an email about the Nesstone brown base 6L6's because I believe that I just had one go in a PS2. He replied back within minutes so went ahead and ordered a quad and some pre's.

Hopefully it is just a 6L6. Fuses appear to test as good.

Check your grid resistors...

That would be a "take it to a tech" kind of thing for me. At least I think it would. Will have to search for some vids on how to do that. I have a multimeter but anything over a very simple fix, I am not confident to be poking around in there.

Ordered from Nesstone on Saturday. The package is already out for delivery today! From California to Ohio in two days. Nice!

Both made by Shuguang but the Bugera one's are the EL34BSTR's...same as the TAD and Rubys. The Nesstones are the black base EL34A's. Both are good sounding tubes.
Gotcha. Thank you for the information.

I ordered a quad of the Nesstone EL34s. If they're anything like the Sino/Shuguang EL34As, then yeah, they're fucking awesome tubes.
