Yeah, I saw the polybrute release today, but at 1/4 the price the matrixbrute is still sitting pretty. No complaints! I don't think you'll be disappointed with it and worse case it'll stay pretty close to that price used.
yes, MatrixBrute is very different, it's going to be much easier than my Behringer System-55 and other semi-modular synths not having the patch cable nests, and with the CV ins/outs it will integrate with these...if only I had the room to set up all my modular and semi-modular synths at once!

the PolyBrute 12 is at a much different level; the FullTouch keybed is what really has my interest, I'm happy with my software / digiral poly synths

I already have a KMI kboard-pro-4 MPE MIDI keyboard....I think my next synth is going to be the Expressive E Osmose

I remember hearing about them having some issues and was told to go refurbed if I wanted to buy one as to have those fixes in place. I don't recall off the top of my head what was going on with them, but if you do pick one up, let me know your thoughts.

I'll have to check on the issues first, thanks for the warning. The K-Board-Pro-4 doesn't have moving parts so it works well but takes time to get accustomed to playing it since they're not traditional keys

Is this now a Synth thread because if so anyone got an Alesis Micron they can sell me on the cheap?

Korg MS2000 or maybe an ion? Pretty sure they're using the same engine. Not sure the going rate though.

My dream synth is a Roland JP8000 but I have been scared off, due to warnings of "gonna have to get em referb'd"
Do they still make them or are you just referring to getting an old synth repaired? You might wanna look into a controller and something off cherryaudio, if you're looking for cheap. Sometimes they do humble bundles where you get numerous synths for like $20.

I do not want controllers or software. I want the real keyboard. I hate virtual machines or imitations of anything.

Not sure on the JP8000, but I do know the vintage JD800 - have an issue known as red glue that will need to be addressed; however, I recall watching a rig rundown by Rick Wakeman and he lamented about his JD800 having the issue; looks like there are some remedies though not sure how effective they are.

After owning a vintage '62 Hammond A-102 and matching Leslie which were both refurbed by a Hammond dealer, the do require regular maintenance and can run for years but if something goes wrong, you better know how to fix it or get it to someone who does...and there's only one place nearby (about 2 hours away) - the A-102 weighs about 350 pounds. I have two digital Hammonds, that I can move myself - works for me

Um, isn't the JP8000 a VA?

I think they stopped using that stuff before EOL on the JD800.

I knew what you meant Brother B.

Maybe she responded with this in-mind:

It's essentially an imitation of an analogue synth. :dunno:

Knowing what you meant 'though, I'd say it'd fulfil your brief 'cause it's "real" and has keys and knobs 'n' stuff. Sounds fantastic too.
