Curious why we never talk about these amps

Yeah. This pretty much. I have a GM40 that is really cool if you didn’t own Marshall’s and Soldanos. The H&K is different. I would sell it BUT I’ll get nothing for it and it’s actually really good for softer styles of music. I use it when I help out another band in the area ( just create a few tones and play).
My Rivera’s are beasts. They can do anything. Maybe too versatile but with tweaking. Only 2 channels and the clean is exactly that. In fact; might be the most versatile amps I own; the TBR’s could be the heaviest (literally).
I forgot about Rivera.
I had a combo, think it was a 25/12 IIRC

Edit: actually just came across a pic of it, of course the guitar has to block the model name

Edit2: it’s a 30/12

I've got an Orange OR15 and Fender Deluxe Reverb that I absolutely love.

When it comes to the deluxe, I feel there isn't really much to talk about. They've been around forever, and everyone knows what they do.

The OR15 is kind of in that purgatory land where it's too loud for most folks to use at home, but not enough for what players tend to like in a band situation.

Nailed it with the 15w orange heads.

The smaller units with smaller output tubes sound....well....smaller.

I still want one though!

I love mine. It took me a while to figure out that it likes to have the EQ set kind of like an old Marshall; everything on 10 & then dial back a bit to taste. I have a UAFX Orion that I run in the loop, just a tiny bit of delay really makes it come alive. The sweet spot for the gain to my ears is around 1-2:00 & it doesn't clean up great with the volume knob, making it a bit of a one trick pony. I completely get why it wouldn't be ideal for most.

I live in the country with no neighbors to disturb. Even so, the only time I really get to enjoy it is when the wife isn't home and I can actually crank it a little.

Yeah not sure why Laney didn't keep both the VH and GH series around. Some tweaks here or there as tones changed but really fine amps and amp platforms.
I've wanted a vh100r reissue for------ever!

The TT series was pretty ahead of it's time too!

Egnater: I'm not sure they've been up to much in several years. Bruce isn't with them, and I don't anticipate anything interesting from them without him, if they're even active at all. It seems like some of their imports had some QC issues early on that may have soured people on them. I think the Synergy and E3 Audio stuff he does is more interesting, plus the amp building class.

H&K: Their more interesting products are behind them. Import costs put them in boutique territory in the US, but I don't think their products live up to that. In Europe they're probably pretty good, for the money.

I always wondered why we never see modded Laneys, I’ve thought of grabbing a gh50 or something and sending it to someone and letting them go to town

Rivera is a strange one to me, I mean you got two of the biggest bands in slipknot and tool that use them, and skid row got killer tones with them, yet hardly any talk ever

Dammit all, you just had to say something and put that idea in my head.

My gh100s is great on its own and I wouldn’t want to change it, it’s literally sabbath in a box, but I see gh50s for $5-600 still, I’d assume for around $1k you can get something killer and different

It's funny to think how much the GH series is basically what people were wanting in a 2203/4, but they completely overlook them.

Similar authority, slightly lower mid voicing perhaps in the Soldano Hot Rod territory, more gain, ability to hit that more gain on/off via footswitch, effects loop options (series, parallel, slave out), made in England.

Just not black and gold I guess.

For sure the are great as is. I wouldn't go all out modding one unless I had a second to keep as stock. Though it is an interesting thought of what all could be done to hot rod the shit out of one.

The lower mids really blend well with other amps when recording I’ve found

Maybe @RedPlated could chime in lol.

Stop, you're making me want another GH50 again.

Rivera K-Tre is IMO the most criminally underrated amp prob....well...ever! One of the meanest sounding EL34 amps out there! Loves Marshall and Krank cabs. Has smoked many "top tier" amps in my experience.
