So the Dumblematic thread is still going and the Mesa thread just got closed due to patient arguments

The best thing about the TGP is the Emporiums! I've seen amps and guitars no more than a week old sold for $500-$800 off there original price.

You can't deny the bottomless $$$ reserves of TGP, your "selling in"

I agree that TGP is a great place for finding information but so is this place. Each board have their advantages
and disadvantages. I don't particularly like TGP and I have time only for this place and HC sometimes.

I kinda really like a few guys over there... Scott Peterson is really a nice guy as is Brian Scherzer. Big Mike is also very cool.
Matte Henderson is a wealth of knowledge and will take his time helping you as will Splatt(DT).

I even like TAG now... He is a nice guy, opinionated yes, but extremely nice and actually not a bad player at all!

Plus, they bounced Carl yet again. How can you not like a site that does that?

I decided I'm ok with their rules. I know what that site is about before I go, it's strict, stuffy, uptight, but they have some knowledge that's tough to come by.

As long as things are consistent I'm ok with rules. Just don't mix up decisions.

Everything is fine as long as: a) you have a $3K amp rig. b) you agree that they should have stopped when Fender was making silver faced amps.

They certainly do consider you're gear as a mark of competence. I was only talking about how the page was run, not how accepted you may be by it's elitist crew.

I thougth that too, but I actually I posted some clips of my Classic 30 and got lots of compliments and no slack - I was pleasantly suprised!

He is definitely polite, and not a bad player, but when he says he can get close to RF... No :D
And since he can`t, unless he`s talking about one chord out of context, or just one note played, it`s not going to sound like Ford, so why even try?

I love the sounds Gary Moore, John Petrucci, Jeff Loomis etc can coax out of their stuff, but even if I had top dollar burning holes in my pockets, I`d feel it pointless to chase their tones, since I`m nowhere near any of those guys in skill :)

It`s not going to sound the same, I guess I`m saying :)

No doubt! Its got amazing clean sounds but its not really my type of amp. A couple months ago I seen a Carr Mercury on the Emporiums that was like new for $1250! That is normally a $2000 + amp. If u ignore all the Dumble threads there is a lot of good info over there. Its much better than HC IMO. To many flame wars on HC. :codeak: :jedi: :force: . That gets old after awhile. I've bought a guitar, amp and 2x12 speaker cabinet from TGP Emporiums and they were all excellent trouble free transactions. The guy I bought the amp from even called me and asked if I was happy with it. I've never had that happen!
