Zelensky knows it's over in a few weeks, so he's going to beg and push as much as he can.
Putin is maintaining constraint knowing it's only a few weeks before Biden is out, and peace negotiations start.
US, NATO, EU or Ukraine can still push this conflict closer to nuclear in the remaining weeks. There are those in the DoD and DoS that will disobey / resist Trump as well who are capable of escalating...

I agree with this. The entire thing could have been avoided if the delusional fuckers wouldn't have started fantasizing about Ukraine joining NATO. For the VAST majority of it's existence, Ukraine has been Russian. Russia began in Kiev.

Some light reading. Incidentally at one time my major in college was Russian history. I lost count of how many Russian History text books I used to own and have read over the years. The great flood of 2017 took my library. I was over 2000 books total at that point. My living room had a couch and 8 bookshelves in it and I still had boxes of books in a spare bedroom. That was one of the most devastating losses I ever incurred.

I love books but they were burdensome to be constantly moving. Plus I am not a collector so I would read them and pass them on to people I knew would value them. I need to do some reading I guess and actually would like to start learning Cyrillic and Russian language. Maybe visit someday. There appears to be a good music scene in St. Petersburg and it's also near Valaam monastery, the "Athos of the North".
