Don't let your wives and girlfriends see this thread! They'll find out we care as much about amp looks as they care about handbags and shoes!

Looking forward to playing the amp, and I appreciate efforts to keep the price reasonably below the Hagen/Herbert/VH4(s).

Hey, if guys are SO much concerned about the looks why not outsource the metal D grill production (in order to keep the price down, say Eastern Europe or something) and keep it as a stock feature while it would still be a genuine Diezel on the inside. While caring about the face can we get some decent sound samples please? Papa didn't seem to be happy with any of those found on the Internet so far?

Anyone else interested?

]I think I don't love the oval ..it just seems like a circle where a square should be.

All black is my fav ,Maybe with a smoked plexiglass front .dark but not opaque .so you can still see the orange glow of the tubes .simple

see attached that with black headshell and Diezel logo on front in standard white or a chrome silver I think would look badass and keep costs down

if just pure tolex maybe the black snakeskin it's subtle

Peter & Pappa...

Just FYI from my camp, don't care whatsoever what it looks like. So long as it's still built like a tank, the cosmetics aren't an issue. What I think would be GREAT, and would probably sate a lot of "wonder and concern" as per the "new D-Moll", is to get some real nice hi-rez clips of it. I think if the amp stands its ground sonically - there'll be fewer people caring about what it looks like.

I for one say KISS - Keep It Simple Stupid - all black, black and grey, whatever works. Plastic front, metal grill front, no care whatsoever. If this thing sounds like I think it will? It can come in any colour or lack thereof you want. If it pwns the stage or studio - sell without a headshell

Cmon guys. For a Diezel its getting to be a cheap amp. I like it's looks. So get out and buy one. The was no chance before to buy such an amazing sounding amp like this one for your bucks.
If i would nit own a herbert i'll buy this one!!!
Look at the price!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep it like the prototype , if the grill makes it more expensive , so be it ;-)

Damn it, I want the costs down too... but +1...what are you gonna do, it looks good as is.

The grill wont be that much difference to , maybe 100 euro max (and that is a lot concedering its used for the other amps too)

Id say the labor for a combined frontplate , wood , holes , white striping , ... Is more expensive then punching holes in a black metal plate ...

Why not let ppl choose the finish themselves , as the engl retros do ;-) , all happy , diff pricetags

The amp looks great and we never have seen an Engl Retro.
The holes reminds me maybe on a Splawn. You have to
understand that it´s not necessarry for us to copy.
Further .... for my personal taste this is the best sounding
Diezel amp also for low gain settings.

There are as many opinions as people and there is no reason
for a drama. Peter Stapfer is thinking about a metal grill option
which is boring after 20 years.

Again ... for me the D-Moll is a good looking and good sounding
Diezel product. Not more and not less.

Amen

Hey Peter ...

reagiere einfach nicht auf dieses wieso, weshalb, warum Gelaber.
Eure Amps sind fantastisch ... uns zwar so wie sie sind ...

Grüße
Markus

At first glance I can't really say that I'm a big fan of the new look, but for me the most important is that it sounds good (and I'm pretty sure it'll be a positive answer). The look is second for me, and anyhow we'll get used to it. At first glance I didn't like the Hagen at all, now I really think it's a good looking amp... maybe the fact that it sits in my flat helps a bit :D

Maybe the traditionnal "D" front grill can be available as an option or after market.

I think it looks fine!

when will these be hitting the stores in europe peter my money is waiting!

Of course we will do our best for our customers

I'm sure you do , i have all the respect for companies who are close to their customers. I do respect all desicions that will be made. Sorry if all my comments seem a bit harsh , but i'm looking forward to this amp since the musikmesse , and it seems that another deadline will be shifted to a later date.

I'm going to stop whining and just hold on a bit longer (although the love for an einstein grows each minute)

Anyway , keep on doing what you do best , building amazing amps , and don't be dissapointed if future customers have a opinion about new products soon to be released

I am sorry, but I have to say I am very dissapointed by the new look... The other Diezel amps looks so freaking good, and I really hope there will be an option available later!

Call me shallow, but looks really does matter! ;)

I think it looks pretty good. I can't believe how superficial some people are concerning the looks of a guitar amp

Ppfffffffffffffftht....  :hys:

SO lame.

Why are they so angry looking? Maybe because their codpieces scratch their new BC Rich guitars? Are these guys musicians or video game addicts?
