It's funny, but out of all my Edwards LPs I don't really like some things on black 98LTC. I don't really get the yellow lines all around the guitar & all of a sudden white on the neck & they didn't do that good of a job with separation & near the headstock. Why couldn't they just do it one color for both?! It plays better than my older vintage white 98LTC though, but VW looks 10 times better.

Clips: If you are talking about area lower than 150-200hz that's because it's been hipassed, ribbons put awful a lot of low end & I keep that area for bass guitar anyway. I'm insane for top end in general, one of the reasons I prefer 2x12s. 4x12s shape different sound, more bottom mean & smooth top & generally sound bigger. But again I wouldn't argue, with my fatigued ears it's hard to judge.

Yes, the white/yellow thing is strange. ESP Custom Eclipse has the same.

Clips: Why do you hipass it? I know you wanna keep the lower erea for the bassguitar, but now the guitars seem to have no body.
You should use multibandcompression on the guitars. If you only compress the low end and leave the highs/mids alone, you 'll have a fat guitarsound without the peaks in the low end.
Try Waves C4 http://www.waves.com/content.aspx?id=323

I can't stand multiband comps, but that's one neat idea, I'm definitely going to give it a try.
You learn something every day

First hipass everything above 80 Hrz.
Then set only one band on the C4 from 80 till 200 Hrz. Bypass the other 3 bands.

Then play with the setting on the 80-200 band.

I agree that there is a certain place for the bassguitar, but just cutting low end on the guitarsound makes the guitars sound thin. And I'm sure your Diezel doesn't sound thin :D

Like I said I was going to post something new once in a while

Channel 1, no midcut, DOD FX40B
Orville Cutom with Gibson PUs
Diezel Herbert - Bogner OS 2x12

Note how smooth top strings are even with 2x12.
