I especially like the idea of using covered pickups in the Horizon.

Yea, those are the Nailbombs - a really fast way of switching this guitar from great to awesome. This axe sounds good with so many rigs that I haven't been even looking at different guitars since then. Of course I still do play other guitars & pickups, but when it comes to a live set I know which guitar is getting into the case. I'm getting another set of Nailbombs installed in my MII, hoping for a little more aggression and bite from this alder bodied setup in contrast to Horizon's mahogany/maple top awesome warmness. My tech promised he's gonna have it ready for me tomorrow. YEY!

Larrikin666, Do you like the tone of Herbie+vader 4x12??
mine soundstoo bassy for me (and my bass knob is around 8 o'clock and deepness about the same, or lower) the low end sounds weird (it sounded good with my other amp tho.) and no mids (I crank them to maximum almost)

May I tell you my experience with Herbert + Vader 4x12? I really really hated that combination because the Vader has too much low end, almost no high-mids and a very scratchy presence. It sounded steril and lifeless to me. Of course there may be amps that sound good with the Vader but from my experience a ENGL Invader, Diezel Herbert and Diezel VH4 didn't sound very good thru it. Of course just IMO

Yeah, I still can't get the hype surrounding these cabs. Every amp I played thru them sounded better thru some other cabs even a cheap Marshall. I guess one reason they are selling that good is because they look metal and they're called "Vader". Imagine them colored in pink and labelled "Gay" Don't get me wrong. I don't want to bash anyone, I just can't understand everybody getting crazy about these cabs.

Still, for some people's taste they might be good.

No, I'm definitely not digging the combination at this point. I love how the Vader sounds with my ENGL SE though. I'm going to swap out two of the Legends in one of my 4x12s for two Eminence Man o Wars. Adam from Vader said that's one of the new options for his cabs and admits it makes the old cabs sound lifeless in comparison.
