I have my mix set up pretty well now, wanted to share with RT.
I am very happy with this one, I think it's the first one I am really happy with

EDIT: If you toss on a good set of headphones the left ear is the Super lead and the right ear is vh4, well thats if you put the headphones on right. :m4:
Hope you enjoy

Cool, but all I hear is the back track with the bass, vocals, Adams guitar etc. I guess yours is in there somewhere!

My guitar tracks are much louder than the back track
Can you not really hear it?

Could be my speakers. I always have a tough time convincing myself of what I'm hearing when backing tracks are used. Sounds spot on if what I'm hearing is you though.

Either you had your guitar volume muted, or that was the very best Tool cover I have had ever heard. ;)

But seriously,
Congrats man, that was impressive! Kind of had me second guessing since you didn't touch your guitar volume knobs, but regardless it was great playing. Sounded awesome, and just looking at how you played it, it's easy to tell you were actually doing it.

It's just that hard to differentiate Jon's playing from AJ's playing. Nice work.

Volume is all controlled at the board

I've spent much money and time trying to get this sound as close as possible...there has been a lot of days doing this
I think it's getting there now...
Thanks for the comments dudes! :rawk:

What are the two pedals on the far right of your board?

And ditto on everyone else's comments. Sounds freakin' great!

Thanks very much everyone!
I don't have many locals that appreciate this as much as the rig-talk crew.
It means a lot

The far right is a late 70's MXR Micro amp and Boss PSM-5

sounds absolutely nailed on to me, and so cool to watch how it's played too, such an unusual song in so many ways but so f*ckin killer too :D

Agreed. Jonl, where are you getting your music from? Tab? Sheet? I've watched a number of your Tool based vids and have to say it's not just the notes being played, but how they're played - where are you getting the blueprints??

Cheers,
Uncle Mo

You guys are to fucking cool! Thanks so much for the words it means a bunch! :worship:
It's very hard to record Tool covers without messing up once, let alone recording it twice for stereo.

Mo,
I think I figure our the style by playing it until it sounds right...
I start with tabs for basic ruff draft, most of the time they are wrong...not alway the wrong notes but playing the notes on the wrong strings.
I will then try watching Adam live but most videos are terrible video quality. If I am really having a problem with a part thats just strange I will rewind the track 100 times until I figure it out.

It's all research and patience, the hardest for me is the patience.

I feel like this guy sometimes
