Diezel VH4S - Still Disappointed

I've long suspected that Diezels are as hyped as they are entirely because they're super expensive and kind of rare.

When you get one dialed in on stage you can feel why they're so popular. I've never felt that kind of clear roar behind me in near 20 years of gigging.

Agreed! I think the Badlander would be cool from what folks, including you, are saying about it. I borrowed a Loop modded MKIIB for a couple months that I expect isn't worlds apart from a C+. It was a tricky bugger to dial in, but once I figured it out, it was epic & right in my wheelhouse...I regret not buying it.
Hands down the Mark series amps are the hardest to dial in but once you do the tone is unmatched. If you're playing more modern aggressive music boost it to get that holy grail tone.

Me either, sounded like scratchy cardboard haha
The intro portion of the video was a little bright, but otherwise I thought the Dover sounded great. Even better in the room. This thing sounds like tubby, dull, boring tone to me.

Have you made a video with your mark III yet?

I haven't actually played either amp myself; would love to!

I had a mk1 Herbert and loved it! I just didn't want to carry it to gigs anymore. My god...weighed more then my 212! LOL!
I could not stand the Einstein other then the Plexi mode. I wish I never bought that one....I would have rather had the regular VH-4 at the time.

I completely absolutely 1000% agree with Kyle. A big bowl of meh be the VH4. Maybe for classic rock or some alt '90s stuff (Tool - whom I can't stand). Too dark, compressed, and way too much eq on the low mids.

I love all the YT comments too:
-Turn it up!
-Try a different cab!
-You're doing it wrong

:bash::codeak:

I’ve had a few. Always ran some graphic eq in the loop. Sounded amazing at my place.

I’ve had 3 diezels not the vh4 they are definitely their own sound . But I love them !! If I had the extra change I would gladly take that vh4s :)

The newer ones are brighter and more aggressive IMHO. The 2007+ VH4 amps I've played were really great. Point all the knobs at noon for each channel and you're good to go.

Diezels are one of the amps where IMHO you don't want to go searching for the early, unobtainable ones. Just get a new one. They have gotten better over the years.

I remember the first time I tried a vh4 I kept looking for the secret button....they're Def nice , Def versatile , and Def good for some guys , but not for me , to loose and flat sounding... they look modern and mean but don't sound it to me....

Respect though because Peter Diezel is a great guy and makes great stuff !

I've seen and played with Y&T numerous times over the past 10 years. Dave Meniketti rocks the VH4 every gig I've seen and he sounds fuckin killer. Les Paul, Kramer, Strat, doesn't matter. It's pretty much plug and play for him. But his hands have killer tone, so there.

Yeah I’ve only owned the stereo VH4. 2 times. Herbert 3 times. Ran em both thru 2 lynch box 4x12s. And nothing loose flubby when I had mine. But again. Used the graphic EQ and just slightly tweaked it.
