Here I am wondering if an EQ in the loop means I don't like my amp. I will however allow one boost. And gates don't count!I always assumed a big pedalboard meant you hate your amp

I must have a lot of hate to go aroundI always assumed a big pedalboard meant you hate your amp
What amp are you slamming these boosts into? Also, how do you like the BB-MB preamp, and the Grid Slammer?I don't know about dream, more like a nightmare sometimes, but I've been using this board for many years with pedals in and out. It's an evolution, but can always use advice. I'm a boost junkie, need a straight path in without going through ugly/too many buffers, prefer not using amp fx loops, and don't like gated fx.
First switcher on right
1-comp/rotovibe
2-gate/switcher on the left
3-flange/trem, H9, Chorus
4-Delay, reverb.
-> out to amp
Left side switcher is all different boost loops, gated. The midi switch is used to change the loops and H9.

I really like them, they've stayed on the board for years. The BB is great for really pushing the front end hard IMO, and has a lot of control over the tone. Still deciding whether I like the original or custom, I would just get the best deal if shopping. The mid control is cool, but I rarely budge it from 12:00. The GS reminds me more of a refined TS, maybe a bit darker. I really like the GS with a Budda SD80, gives it a pretty sick grind, then I use an EP for its dirty cleans. Also like it with a Jubilee. I like the BB with all my amps, but mainly my TRec and QRod.What amp are you slamming these boosts into? Also, how do you like the BB-MB preamp, and the Grid Slammer?
Awesome! I purchased the BB MB pre.... I also have an older version of the QRod. It's good to see someone posting who doesn't use Fender amps, or using mostly clean platform amps. I have a 2005 Three bottle one yesYou're definitely going to like the main forum then!
Do you have one of the 3 preamp version QR's? I had one of the early ones, loved it, and stupidly traded it thinking they were easy to get. Went through a couple used ones before I gave up and ordered a B+ one from Scott. It scratched the itch, but I still remember that 3 pre.

The "clean" channel isn't much to switch to though......jelly
what is this "clean" you speak of? Is that something like low gain? The "clean" channel isn't much to switch to though......
Hahahaha!what is this "clean" you speak of? Is that something like low gain?
Yeah. It’s either a nice tweed Fender amp or Orange something that’ll take away my pedal desires…This is pretty much all I use most of the time. The board is nice to have, but a killer amp is all you need! Funny how I have such a nice board and most of the time, I am just riffing straight into my amp.
It’s the channel that has nothing vulgar on it, like the QVC ones as opposed to the few fuzzy warped channels ahead that you need to pay for.what is this "clean" you speak of? Is that something like low gain?
Do you find the wood to be heavier than aluminum? Did you go with it for aesthetics or price or was it a hand made board?I absolutely love my board. It is a dream because a dear friend built it for me and to custom specs, which he also developed. I could not be any happier. Here is a quick pic, albeit not the best. I have a whole thread on here about it. I am certain you mean the pedals themselves for the most part, but the board itself is such an important think in designing everything and laying it out.
If I didn't sound like a car accident trying to play cleans, I bet this board would be great for someone using a clean amp and wanting a variety of dirty tones. It’s the channel that has nothing vulgar on it, like the QVC ones as opposed to the few fuzzy warped channels ahead that you need to pay for.
I have a HSS strat that uses flatwound strings to get a very clear, almost 0 buzz tone to feature pedals more.If I didn't sound like a car accident trying to play cleans, I bet this board would be great for someone using a clean amp and wanting a variety of dirty tones.
This board was made for me by a close friend. He chose the materials and such.Do you find the wood to be heavier than aluminum? Did you go with it for aesthetics or price or was it a hand made board?
Thanks I’ll check it out. I was at Home Depot today trying to figure out how to effectively make a custom board for myselfThis board was made for me by a close friend. He chose the materials and such.
I can say that the wood he chose is very light, and very sturdy. The board itself is very light.
I have another wooden board that is smaller than this one, but heavier.
He did very well in his choice of materials and build style. I have some raw board photos with no pedals mounted somewhere on one of my threads on here. Like 'New Pedal Board Day' or something is in the title. I list all of the details on that thread for my medium/large board and my nephew's small/medium one.
