They rule, plain and simple. Why I've never heard of these until now is beyond me, they deserve more recognition than they get. I've tried lots of picks and always go back to Dunlop Tortex because of the feel, sound, and durability. Lately I've gone up in string guage and have been ripping through a Tortex pick every few days until I heard about Ultex, so I thought I'd give it a try. They're stiffer than comparably guaged Tortex material, but not that much. They don't slip from your fingers like Tortex and they don't come with that annoying powdercoat on them either. I half expected something like this to sound fake and plastic-y like a Jazz III or something, but they sound and feel very good. Don't lose their edge or become rough edged as quickly as Tortex either. I was very surprised by these picks, definitely seems like a lot of work went into developing the material, so I thought I'd give the company a respectful nod.
