EVH Iconic release?

Politics aside I’ve read that California passed a emission law that trucks older than three years or so don’t meet emission standards. Also there is a nationwide shortage of some parts for the big rigs.
At this point as I said prior December was the now expected release date. I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Those amps sitting in those shipping containers are probably already starting to corrode from the salt out there 😂

I think the amps are meant to be targeted towards younger players on a limited budget.

I think the trend is more toward small combos, is it not?

I want a small EVH combo, 15 watts, with a good reverb, sold.

Question. Why were you considering it if you had the block letter?

I don't think it's a hybrid amp. A hybrid amp has either the preamp or poweramp section solid state. It just seems to have some solid-state components in it for its tone but the tubes are there. If the goal is a more manageable 5150 but a different circuit in part, are we really going to care if the tone is there? I mean if my Helix can do a 5150 then why can't the Iconic?
Just to try it. Was kind of an impulse decision. It is a hybrid preamp section. I’m not saying it won’t be good, just not interested in it anymore.

It competed well with Orange at the time for lunchbox high gain and it's a killer little amp with a big sound. However no clean channel and I have since come to learn that the EVH 6L6 clean channel is absolutely fantastic for taking distortion pedals that you don't want to use on EL34s etc.

It's probably cheap enough to do that, so I get you.

My guess is that a portion of EVH5150III people buying blind thought they were getting a Peavey 5150 and ended up with something else. So this way Fender doesn't have to promote Peavey to solve that issue.

You can actually buy a Peavey 6505+ for a little more money than the Iconic.

Also, Peavey is releasing a rebranded 6505 that’s supposed to be “block letter specs.” this sounds like the better option of the two.
