Here's is a quote from Edward to Jose from the new Neil Zolzower book(Eddie Van halen) it's a old interview from jose arrendondo"I became number one in rock music maybe because I play different,and create different stuff,but I never could do it with out this man,Jose,because he modded and blended and made the amplifer the way I wanted to make it".Jose then talk's about Eds plexi and how Ed wanted it to sound.Not stock.....
 
Seinheiser 409's for drum overheads? Background vocals on the bass? SM57's on the cabs.. that at least is helpful. The rest.... plexis, boosts, EQ pedals, variacs. Somewhere they all get ballpark. Good enough for me these days.

So let me get this straight. You read a book that has a quote from one known liar (Ed) and a follow up story from another noted liar (Jose)...therefore it must be true?
Additionally, you have heard John Suhr, a noted "good guy" and undisputed expert on tube amps and soldering, say that most of the solder joints were untouched (including in spots where a Jose mod would have been performed), and yet you think he's full of sh*t.
Finally, Pete Thorn and others have clearly demonstrated that you can easily get VH1 gain levels from a stock dimed plexi, yet you stand on an island and continue to say they can't do it.

You, my friend, need a serious reality check. :loco:

I would go with Rupe any day of the week from his posts here, just saying..................

I am not as versed as many that have posted here and will not debate their findings as their clips are awesome, all I know is that I played a Jose EVH and it was an awesoe experience :thumbsup:

My shit friends that dont know crap are hard at work right now on my Curt***** :yes:
