I'm not much for flexibility, but it's certainly nice to have it in case I need it!Yep, just not as flexible.

Cool tone! The JB seems to have more fuzzy/woofy scratchiness going on for a lack of a better description. The Aldrich sounds tighter and better 'reigned in'.Not apples to apples, but I recorded this quick clip. First is the LP with the Aldrich, then my LTD EC-400VF with a Duncan Antiquity JB: *CLIP*
Keep in mind the LP is naturally tight and aggressive and the LTD is naturally fat and round. But I think it's pretty evident to me that the mids in the Aldrich/LP are less stuffy.
Also, this is what the guitar straight in look like. Well, almost straight in. I use my 18V TS808 turned off as a buffer. You can tell that even the Ant JB with its degaussed magnet is way hotter than the Aldrich.

It was both muddy and biting for some reasonWhat did you not like about it?
I personally don't love that it's so high DCR and it's so not blistering hot output, LOL. But that's kind of irrational of me. It sounds good, it's just not what I was expecting. I guess what's "negative" about it for me is that it's neither a full-on hot pickup nor is it a vintage-y PAF-type.
I find it biting and fat, but I don't find it muddy. Each to his own.It was both muddy and biting for some reason
I've liked BB Pros in the past, but I've never gotten along with BB 1/2/3. I had the 2 and the 3 in one of those 1959 Epis. But it could've just been the guitar. It was alright, but not fantastic.I love the bustbucker 2 I have in the bridge of my Lp Std.
The maple neck of your tribute might tweak things thou.
I found the Aldrich to be pretty sensitive to height position, a few turns on the screws could change it quite a bit. Once I found the sweet spot the only gripe I had was it was slightly more compressed than I was hopingIt was both muddy and biting for some reason
