Fucking Rezadouche and his douche comments. Somethings never change. The guy is the biggest hyped up loser on the Internet.

“Oh look at my $10,000 ken Lawrence 7 string through my Wizard MTL. $15000 rig and I still suck balls”

Now this is something we can actually agree on!

   Clip sounds insane, wow
I wouldn't call it insane, with such lean low-end.

Tight and reasonably aggressive? Sure, but where's the beef?

The thing is, if you say you can copy that tone or come close to it with your own gear, two things are certain:
1) whoever owns a Larry will call bullshit on it. "Nothing touches a Larry".
2) Larry himself will call bullshit on it "My amps are untouchable".

Look, I enjoy that sound, but not for the price that I bought my (used) car for. And sure, it has the pre-boost juice basically built-in, it's well built, etc. etc.
It just...
At 1/10th of the price, my Engl Savage 60 when boosted does that tight, gnarly Iced Earth thing too.

Will it sound exactly like a real Larry? Probably not. Then again $5k+ difference buys a lot of other cool stuff... I mean, shiiiiit...I can get a '81 vertical input 2203 (I already have a MIJ SD-1 and a '81 TS9 waiting for it) *and* a Mark IIC+ DRG and I'd still have money left to burn.
Horses for courses. YMMV.

I am not on about TheGearPage clip, he posted a different one to FB that sounds really good

I hope this works.
I just shot a small quick video of my Savage 60 boosted (TS9 Mini) with moderate room volume (you can still hear strings).
Guitar = Burny Les Paul Standard '90, with a DiMarzio Norton in the bridge.

Please pay no attention to my sloppy Prime Evil riff; it's about the sound, tightness and fullness. I've set it quite scooped now; but if you hear this back to back with the video on TGP, I know what I'd prefer.

Engl Savage 60 soundclip.

Yeah, it worked.

I always find it tough to judge the sound the way it's recorded in these sorts of clips, but you've definitely got somethin' goin' on there.

Fck... you mean I missed my chance at hearing a good Larry clip?

And seriously... .22?

Check the Heavy Metal amps and whatever page, he’s got a clip up there

Maybe the truth is:
The clips sound like shit, because the amps sound like shit...

If I have a 12 inches dick I wouldn't mind in to post it on the internet, but if it measures 12mm and someone discover the truth I would try to tell it is the cellphone's resolution fault.

Oh man... that’s hilarious!
It’s as embarrassing as being rich and not being able to buy what you want... or like being a plastic surgeon and not being able to fix your own face!???

Set the Output control (Master) of a DINO at 0.3 and expect a overwhelming killer sound?
At a loudness level just so loud, that your baby sleeping in the next room doesn't wake up.
Or what else do you expect of a Larry amp?
Dumb ass!

I'm convinced that such a genius on the guitar like you even will get this straight just with a Bugera :D :D :D

 ;)

PS: one thing I have been able to pick up from all the (subpar) phone-Larry clips, it seems that the Dino excels in keeping clarity/openness in the low-end, while still having lots of gain. To me, it *is* a rather lean low-end though.
I've been trying to mimic that part with my Savage, but due to the Engl's own inherent saturation and compression, getting THAT part right, is the difficult part of the equation, even when dialing down the Bass a lot.
So, credit where credit's due. If that's worth the price of a sturdy used car, is another discussion. :D

Here is the same guy who posted the Larry clip. He’s playing the Evil Pumpkin at NAMM and the master isn’t set crazy high.

Sounds like tubby flubby shit. Like he's playing rubber bands instead of guitar strings.
Good god that's horrible.

Jesus that's bad. Nice downstrokes....ugh. This dude needs to stay in the woodshed for a few more months. Figures he's the same one that posted the NAMM vid. Both show how choppy a player he is. Sorry but it is what it is. He can't play, who knows if he can even dial an amp in decently? Tone is subjective...but....I can dial my Coliseum and modded Marshall to sound like shit. Every setting isn't great sounding.

There's a saying...bad players gonna sound like shit no matter how nice the rig is....good players can make a Peavey Bandit sound incredible.
Just sayin.

No money for buying gear?
Even no money for buying new glasses?
Hopefully you still have some bucks left over for your hair dresser!

Usually it's a ~slightly~ :D difference, to have a Master set at 0.3 or at 1.7

But a guy w/o any experience with gear can't know about this difference ;)

This style of playing is good for people that cant play very well. If I want that sound I can get it with a 5150.

The excuses come with little effort from you Larry. You are a true professional. Haha.
Ah ok, your excusion for your eye cancer fail then reads like this?

If it's caused because you maybe meanwhile also are a Corona victim, then you'd get my understanding.

What fully explains, why you've confused a Master setting of 0.3 to a Master setting of 1.7

You're the undisputed genius - claiming that you've ever worked in your life :D

And don't forget to drink your daily amount of cow pee, since this also suppresses Corona symptoms ;)
