Fuckaroo Bonzai...The JVM KILLS.....................

I have heard a lot of talk of it being noisey and thin/messy at high volume. I have not played one so I am going from friend's testing of the amp. A buddy compared it to a Roadster and Mark IV and said the Mesas were tons thicker than the JVM and quiet. I need to test one though.

Another buddy told me if I do like the JVM, get a used Triamp as it should sound better and is built better. True?

I'd say there is some truth to this...with one exception. The Triamp doesn't sound anything like a Marshall... Otherwise...it would be the ultimate amp...IMO. The Triamp MK II is a fantastic amp though....

My concern is build quality and was looking at the Mesa Roadster as it seems to be built much better.....but I need to play through both.

Yeah...You should see inside a JVM.. Plastic Jacks, Front panel knobs mounted to the board could easly be broke off. I guess it would work for the bedroom

You must not know what you're talking about. This isn't the truth.

Hmm, I've taken mine around a bit - some other owners have gigged with theirs - no problems...

Of course, you wouldn't think for a second that maybe Marshall knows what the hell they're doing, eh?

Mine kicks ass. I'm a "bedroom" player, as in my gear is located in a bedroom, but I sure as hell don't play quiet. Just ask the Jenks Police Department...

It sure is! Take alook. Shake the knobs. (be careful it might break off in you hand)

I love Marshall Amps. I gigged with mine for a whole two shows. I purchased the JVM thinking it was going to replace the 2555. Boy, that was a mistake.(Costly). But, When you get a chance take alook inside. or maybe someone here has a few shots of the inside they can post?

Did you have an actual issue with the JVM or you just upset at the build quality?

So you've not actually seen the inside of one?

I have, and I don't see a problem with any of it.

Also, the 2555, if I remember correctly, is the "Slash" model? The Jub, but non-silver?

If so, that's not your typical Marshall either, which, again, if I remember correcly, it has a tube gain stage(s) followed by a solid state gain stage(s), then a tube power section.

There's not really going to be any other Marshall design that will sound like that....

I was just like everyone else (couldn't wait for the darn thing to come out) and when it did it was a HUGE disappointment for me. Tone is subjective, and if the tone works for you then hey, thats all that matters. But now what components the amp is made of is not subjective, it is what it is. People don't get mad at me, I didn't assemble the amps. Take alook for yourself. It would be interesting if we could could get a % of how many out on the road and how many last 6 months out there.

I hear ya man. I was just curious as I am looking into one in the near future. I know a couple of people gigging with them and so far no issues at all.

No, I have seen inside one. and if your happy with what you seen then don't worry about it as long as the amp sounds good to you. You know some people don't really care about the quality. But, if you ever get it out gigging & hauling it around you might have some problems.

Kannibul..I am not saying the 2555 is the HOLY GRAIL.

Don't be mad at me because you sold the Orange RV :D

Well, if you're dishwasher breaks and you're having a party just crack open your JVM! Enough utensils for an afternoon picnic to go around.

That's what Marshall gets for building an amp with broken blender parts in a Malaysian sweat shop with slave labor! ;)

This is not meant to sound harsh but Im going to make a few points here.

Do You own a MKIV? regardless if you do or not, Pull out one of the push pull pots and go ahead..... Shake them around....Put some real pressure on them. Now let me know if you were able to crack any of the pots straight off and get back to me. The point is if you go looking to break something, the odds are that you can do it. No one is EVER and I mean Ever going to tell me that a JVM knob is going to break of from normal use. If you smack it into a wall are go leaning on it to see how much its going to flex then maybe but if you use it like a normal human being... aint gonna happen.

NEXT

Lots of guys are gigging with the JVM and Yes... Marshall did use a cost cutting build plan but I know of not one person who has gigged with the Marshall and cracked off a knob. A good friend of mine is going on his 4th or 5th gig with a JVM withought one single problem. The funny thing is that from a build perspective, the DSL's aren't as sound as the JVM's and teh JVM is getting all of the backlash because of internet horseshit. If people are really concerned with the Build quality then lets see what they say if Marshall fixes those issues and you now have to Pay $3000 + for an amp like the JVM.

I've played about 10 shows so far with mine. I just don't throw it around.

Wow. Neat!

Let me try that structure:

I'm not reading a whole lot of non-douche Carl posts?

Oh holy shit. If you like it play it. If you don't fine, play something else. I can't beleive this shit is still going on.
