Saw this on a local FB listing just now for a suitcase.

when I was a kid, decades ago, I remember the United Garment Workers union commercials; they had a song, "Look for the union label..."

well it turns out, American textile companies, with their labor unions, workers pensions, and other financial obligations could not compete with China; one of the first manufacturing industries China developed was textiles, as they had already been doing it (e.g., silk production); they were able to destroy the American textile industry in a matter of years - and all those union workers lost their jobs - because of the cost of union workers. the unions refused to renegotiate or give concessions until the damage to the American textile companies and industry was irreversible.

labor unions weaken and destroy companies and industries; if businesses can't make a profit or compete in a global market, they go out of business or move to where they can make a profit. it's simple and obvious result.

but leftists continue to destroy businesses with consequences they can't even see or ignore; like the $20/hour fast food wage in California; hours cut, people laid off, restaurants closed, fewer jobs,... anyone with a pulse should have been able to see that, but the socialists / commies were surprised.

there are already AI/robotics systems to prepare fast food without humans; I've worked in AI for decades, and still do today. all that's needed for AI/robotics is a good cost/benefit model; when the cost of human workers exceeds the cost of AI/robotics automation at a certain level, it becomes cost effective to automate. basic math.

Top pic, I’ll bet she has a 180 degree sight pattern without moving her head.

"Was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez fired from Hot Dog on a Stick in 2008 for incompetence?
No, that's not true: a meme making that claim uses an actual 2008 photo of a Hot Dog on a Stick worker named "Stephanie"
but at the time Ocasio-Cortez was in college in Boston, more than a thousand miles away from the nearest Hot Dog on a Stick location.

https://leadstories.com/hoax-alert/2019/03/AOC-hot-dog-on-a-stick.html

Some of her accomplishments:

Ocasio-Cortez attended Yorktown High School and while there she participated in the National Hispanic Institute’s Lorenzo de Zavala (LDZ) Youth Legislative Session. She also won second place in the microbiology category of the 2007 Intel Science and Engineering Fair in appreciation of her research project, the MIT Lincoln Laboratory named a small asteroid after her: 23238 Ocasio-Cortez.

After graduating high school in 2007, Ocasio-Cortez attended Boston University and graduated cum laude with Bachelor of Arts degrees in Economics and International Relations. She attended on the John F. Lopez Fellowship, which was an experience-based learning opportunity sponsored by the National Hispanic Institute. Her father passed unexpectantly during her sophomore year, and his medical bills left her family vulnerable to a potential foreclosure on their home. Her mother took on additional work as a school bus driver to save the house/cover the bills. Around this time, Ocasio-Cortez sought out an internship concentrating on foreign affairs and immigration issues in the late Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy’s office, As the only Spanish speaker in the office, she often worked with constituents calling to locate family members recently detained and potentially deported by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.). After graduating college, OCASIO-CORTEZ returned to the Bronx and worked in various jobs, including: Educational Director for the National Hispanic Institute; founder of Brook Avenue Press, a now defunct publishing press created to share positive stories about the Bronx; a community organizer for Bernie Sander’s 2016 campaign for U.S. President; and a waitress and bartender.

Actually she was turned down for the hotdog stand job after spewing anti govt rhetoric during the interview. They said “we’ll call you” but never did.

Well it’s funny coming from him. When I moved to LA the overwhelming impression we got of California boys was that they were pussies.
well all they got is name calling, vitriol, projection, delusion, destruction and failure.

they say we are what we eat, so being called a pussy isn't so bad; so in return I'll call Johnny a dick.
