But for real the single inlay in the 12th fret should be "The Hyrax" since it's the official rig-talk animal. I think @japetus would like that. Pictured below is a wombat.

Correct. Still gonna play metal on that fuckin’ thing….well after busting out some Quo songs first. 😉

I need to brush up, I have no idea who that is. 🤷‍♀️
Now I wish I had signed up for the tele build.

... and my apologies to Lisa for BS on my part for previous days.
Kudos.

Really not here to wish Lisa ill will or anything or meant anything by anything and my sincerest apologies in any case if that is how she feels or others feel.......

Just want to take the opportunity to apologize to Lisa and highlight the great work here and for members who havent joined to join, participate in the giveaway and show the OP the appreciation she deserves rightfully so and more than some jackass like me.
I bastardised your paragraph break but I think this is a good way to end this. Well-done mate.

The thread was never intended to be about you or anyone else; it's a giveaway. :dunno:

No problem Brother Monkey, my apologies.

And sorry to Lisa and OP respectfully. As a guitar dude I appreciate stuff like this....

It's cool, more power to you, OP and players in general because stuff like this is what it's all about IMO ^_^

Would love for this to end up with a single humbucker and volume.
Feel like it would be pretty clean looking.
Even better, no volume either.
Straight to the output jack.
Chugg Norris Approved.
How do y’all feel about a kill switch if it’s just one Hum? Or that could be left up to the recipient on getting this weapon?

I'm for it. I put them on quite a few of my guitars. Feel like what I'm probably going to do with the control layout is not have the builder put in any holes for pots or switches and just use my hand drill that I use on guitars when I swap in larger shaft pots or switches and whatnot as there is no stress about it tearing up the wood as I do it slowly and controlled once not just the layout is picked but also exact placement. As much as I would like to leave it up to the winner of each build, I feel like it takes away a bit from them being community builds as well as concerns about them already being painted and just too much headache, imo.

I have never done the killswitch. But while i dont see using it for effect, i wouldnt be bothered by it. I would give it a try before replacing with a volume if necessary. I could ream the hole if it needed to be larger for a volume pot. Nbd for me.

Have found different uses for them that have turned out cool. One is with a momentary on off on so that when you press it halfway through the stroke it's off and at the bottom of depression it's on again, release to off on, if that makes sense. So. you get more speed and half the work (one press and release is on off on off on). Another fun trick is to couple that with coil splitting and a high output humbucker also wired to bottom of the depression position and you can get a warble/record scratch kinda thing going on without volume actually cutting out. Found the latter to be most effective the higher the pickup output to get a larger contrast.

Finally, you can also use one of them in a similar way to quickly jump back and forth between the bridge and neck pickups, so it goes say bridge/neck/bridge/neck/bridge with one press and release of the switch instead of using a traditional switch. That does defeat using the neck pickup by itself, but who uses a neck pickup anyway? :ROFLMAO:

I believe that a defense mechanism of the hyrax is to throw its offspring to a predator to save its own life. If the hyrax is your spirit animal then you need to do some serious self reflection… carry on…

Personally don't understand all of the hyrax hype or meaning behind the pic posts over and over.
Is supposed to be a troll thing?

This is nothing short of Hyrax heresy!!!!

You will come to know the true power of the hyrax soon, as will we all.
