+1

Couldn't agree more, can't make it sound bad - period.

Peace,

I just bought a Bogner XTC 20th Anniversary. Killer amp!!! I love it!!!
I also have a Diezel Hebert and Red Plate Star Dust, but now (Ok, I'm in honeymoon phase....) the XTC 20th is my favorite.
Cheers,
Oz

It's my favorite, too and I have a Twin Jet and have owned a Fish preamp. What options did you choose?

I bought used, but in mint condition. It has EL34 NOS Siemens + Class A/AB option, all black with gold pipping. Killer look and sound.
I played it with my Diezel FL 4 x 12 (all V30) and my Port City 2 x 12 OS (Scumbacks M75-LHDC). So far, I prefer the Scumbacks......
Which speaker do you guys prefer with the XTC 20th?
Oz

Hey Guys,
Any thoughts about different speakers (than V30) for the Bogner XYC 20th?
Cheers,
Oz

I really liked the stock Bogner 4x12 with Vintage 30's with my 20th EL34 head.

Hey Oz - Glad your liking it so far. It'll sound good through the Mills you have coming with gk100s/v30s, but I think it was a little better with all v30s. I liked h30/v30s with the XTC as well.

Thanks Guys for the replies!!!
I like the 20th thru my Diezel FL 4 x 12 (all V30) for metal tones, but for more rock/hard rock stuff, the Scumback M75-LHDC sounds great. Any experience with Scumback's?
Cheers,
Oz

I've run my XTC with tons of different speakers - V30s, G12T-75s, H30s, G12Ms, M75s, M55s, etc. So far M75s are my favorite; they seem to take what the Bogner puts out in terms of thick mids and just accentuate the hell out of it. A bit punchier than the G12Ms since I got the 65w versions.

That's cool.
My XTC 20th with 4x12 V30 sounds very good. Yesterday, I played it thru V30 during 30 minutes and after that I played it more 20 minutes with the Scumback M75 - LHDC (65w, Port City 2 x 12 OS). The difference is almost night and day. It doesn't mean the Scumback are better than V30, just different. But for my taste (at least for now... ), the M75 - LHDC sound more "correct", without some harshness that V30 are famous (at least for my ears). Unfortunately, my new Mill Acoustics Afterburner 4 x 12 isn't ready yet, and I don't have a Bogner 4 x 12 (suppose to be the "perfect match" for the 20th....) to compare.
I'm curious about the H75-LHDC as well the new J75. At least, lots of good options out there for different ears and taste....
I'm thinking to try a Stone Age 2 x 12 'C' closed back cabinet with Scumbacks 100w (my M75 are 65w and I'm afraid to blow them up). Any experience with Stone Age Cabs?
Keep rockin' guys,
Oz

Same for me; night and day difference between non-Mesa V30s and Scumbacks. Mesa V30s are pretty cool, but the Scumbacks just sound better for my purposes. Never played a Stone Age cab. You might want to check out the regular M75s and H75s without the large dust cap. I've found they sound a little clearer. I'd love to hear a J75 as well; I loved the H30s I put the XTC through, and hunter has some killer clips of those with his 100b.

Edit: Here's one of my favorite clips he's done.

Nice clip.
I didn't try the M75, H75 and J75 yet. Jim (Scumback) says that his LHDC will work better in hi-gain situations, but always "the beauty is in the eye of beholder."
I'm not looking for "too heavy/over-saturated" amp. Maybe more "clearer" will be great.

Yeah man, Rob (TM) recommended an M75/H75 mix with my Uber...haven't looked back since!

I really dig the V30s in both my Mesa Traditional Cabinets. Got to hear M75 in one Splawn 4x12 last week and H75 int the other Splawn 4x12 and liked the M75 better than the H75 with the twin jet. I still think I like my V30's in the Mesa a bit better overall, but I did not have my cabinet there to A/B will need to do this and see what I think. What made you go this route with your uber and not look back, what was your determining factor?

I started out with 2 M75s (65watt@16ohms)...loved the way they sounded, but the low end (mandatory for the Uber) was a bit loose. The H75 tightened up the low end, but still allowed the sweet mids of the M75 to blossom.

I would like to point out, though, that I have my Uber dialed in to a fairly modern, mid dominant sound (not brutal at all).
