Gamers: PS3 or Xbox?

I think I'm finally going to spend some coin on a newer game system, but I really don't know which one to go with.

I've heard conflicting stories for both sides, so I figured I'd see what you people think since there seem to be a few regular gamers here.

Any help is appreciated! :rock:
 
You'll have more fun right now with 360.
There are a bunch of us RT guys that play on XBlive and the games are great.
 
A game I really want is about to come out in late October, and I'm wondering the very same thing. I just cannot decide.
 
PS3's are going to drop in price and have better value bundles for the holidays.
Needless to say, i'll be finally getting one to play RE5. :thumbsup:

The 60GB is £349 here with 2 free games, but you only have like Resistance, Motorstorm, F1 and another to choose from.
 
If you want to get a more powerful system then PS3 is the way to go. But if you want killer games to play then Xbox no question.

Yeah... that was what kept me from getting one at launch..lack of games.
Even if i had one, i would never play 'cuz all my buddies from XBlive and RT are on 360 :thumbsup:
 
At this point, the X360 has more games I'd want to play. The purchase should be based on what games you want to play and are available.
 
That seems to be the consensus that Xbox has better games which is what I think I'd ultimately want in the end.
 
I have both systems and i can tell you that my PS3 collects dust man. Right now the xbox 360 is the shit. That could change in 2008....but if you like online gaming xbox 360 is the way to go. Plus, there's a bunch of people on here who get together and play games!

Sevens, how much did you pay for it? (PS3) I live in Montreal, so I'm curious. I have a hard time dumping $600+ on a console and not use it. I consider a console worth buying if I can find 5 good unique games I'd play on it.
 
I bought it the week it came out. I seen one on a store shelf and knew that they were hard to get and fell for the hype. :D I ended up paying 649.99 for it. :thumbsdown:
 
I used to own a 360 and it totally ruled online, plus they're cheaper. I may get another 360...
 
The 360 has better games out right now, and games that are out for both systems look better on the 360 for the most part. The thing about the 360 is that it's a piece of shit build wise, mine just died and I know a ton of other people's who have died too. Supposedly Microsoft has fixed the problem in all the newer systems, but I dunno. I think starting this Spring the PS3 will really start to gain ground though, namely when MGS4 comes out. That game will be worth the price of a PS3 alone.
 
All you have to do is decide if you want the one that has games, but won't run, or if you want the one that runs, but has no games. Or perhaps you want their retarded step brother?

The choices sure are great right about now!
 
I was reading today that Call Of Duty 4 looks better on PS3 compared to Xbox 360. Maybe developers are finally starting to figure out how to use the PS3's full potential.
 
I've had my 360 for about a year now and have been very happy with it. I dig the game selection.

A buddy of mine has a PS3 and he's always coming over here. They PS3 is cool but for the most part right now the 360 is better.

My guess is that it will always just depend on which platform is focused on when the game is developed. There will be differences here and there for each, but they're still going to look like the same games.

I can't see games looking outright "better" than stuff like Gears of War, on either console. They are what they are. People may get better at developing for either one, but the technology isn't going to change. All that will likely amount to is that the games will be able to support more people online, since they'll be optimized better.
 
I couldnt decide, so I built a gaming pc.... But I am a geek anywayz
