The choices sure are great right about now!

I have both systems and i can tell you that my PS3 collects dust man. Right now the xbox 360 is the shit. That could change in 2008....but if you like online gaming xbox 360 is the way to go. Plus, there's a bunch of people on here who get together and play games!
Sevens, how much did you pay for it? (PS3) I live in Montreal, so I'm curious. I have a hard time dumping $600+ on a console and not use it. I consider a console worth buying if I can find 5 good unique games I'd play on it.

it'll be dropping soon

And at Xmas, best buy has good bundles for 360.
I got my bundle + 2 xtra year 'best buy' warranty (straight exchange) for under 400$ tx in.

I'd go with 360 premium package. Lots of great games out already, and quite a few on the horizon. Apparently the newer ones are more reliable...
I hate the MGS and FF series, so I have little use for a PS3 really...
The Wii has potential, but no real good games at this time IMO. I haven't turned mine on since at least August.

I bought the 360 on the day it came out here in Germany and i'm still having lots of fun with it. There's a lot of great games out and some really good looking titles are just around the corner.

I still believe that you cant go wrong with either console tho. Both have their strong points and both will offer lots of good stuff for the next year or two. Playing hi-def games on a big ass tv while sitting relaxed on your couch is just soo much better than playing on a PC imo....and that is coming from a mayor PC geek.

It's very well possible that i may buy a PS3 somewhere next year, especially if the blue-ray format would win over HD-DVD. I dont understand the fanboys for both systems....i'll just get what gets the job done best for me. Right now its the 360....maybe that'll change in the future...who cares?

They keep delaying them. All that's really out so far are GC ports that didn't even make it to the GC, because Nintendo is so damn slow. I'm not going to count Metroid Prime 3, technically the first real Wii game, because they delayed it forever, then COMPLETELY cut out the multiplayer. They really shot themselves in the foot there. They could have had something to potentially compete with Halo.

And now, Super Smash Bros. Brawl is delayed AGAIN, until after Christmas, which is probably the only console game I care to see. And it's not even a Wii game. It'll just be Melee with more stuff. They also just recently announced a new Mario Kart, so I'd have to assume that that comes out in 2011 for the Wii's predecessor.

If Nintendo had actually been on the ball, as they claimed to be before the Wii came out, it'd be great, but as usual, they are plagued with repeated and huge delays. They've been like this since the N64 days. It has gotten very old.

And yet, the Wii still sells like mad. I'll never understand.

That doesn't make any sense, duder. There's no way you're going to know that by next year.

The blockbusters around here have cut out hd-dvd completely so maybe blu ray has a chance! I freaken bought hte xbox 360 hd dvd player and now its useless

You're probably right there.....i'm just saying if there would be a decision leaning towards blue-ray, i would get a PS3 instead of some stand-alone player.

If they were the same price I would go with PS3, as I like the games better. I really can't justify the price though so I guess I would go 360. I would probably regret it eventually though, I can't live knowing I spent money on a game system without metal gear solid or something from isnomniac or naughty dog.

I have a wii now, and its awesome, just wish nintendo wasn't so retarded with releasing games. Still, as of right now you've got

Zelda Twilight princess
Resident evil 4
Metroid Prime 3

Even though two of those are ports, they are still amazing and much better on the wii than on GC or PS2. Wii = Win, or at least it would if nintendo got off their asses and finished things on time :gethim:

There's no games on PS3 that have my interest. And most big hits on the PS3 will also be on the 360.

Sony hyped up the PS3 soo much but most games look better on the 360. Madden and NCAA Football both look better on the 360.

Break it down like this.

Price. 360 wins

Games. 360 wins.

Online. 360 wins

Upcoming titles. Still giving the 360 the edge because most of the big titles coming will be on the 360. There's still talk of MGS coming out for the 360, but it's just a rumor. Devil May Cry is coming out for the 360 which really pissed off the Sony fanboys. And Mass Effect is looking really cool which is a 360 exclusive, for now at least. But the PS3 looks to have at least enough games for it to at least justify it's price tag.

Blueray versus HDDVD. Does anyone care anymore?

Reliability. PS3's seem to have agood track record. If you get a 360 keep it well ventilated and get an extended warranty.

Meh...the 360 runs fine. You just need to not let it overheat.

Play a game for 1/2 an hour...save...turn it off for 10 minutes...play the game from saved point for 1/2 an hour...save...turn it off for 10 minutes...

meh x2. More than a couple of times i forgot to shut my 360 off at night, forgot about it in the morning, came home in the day and started playing. I put the Nyko fan on mine and it's NOT inside of an entertainmnet console. Iv'e had it for a year now so i guess i got one of the good ones.

You're kidding, right? Half an hour and then save? That would take forever to complete a game like an RPG. What do you do with racing games that have endurance races? The units fail even with adequate cooling. I've even seen the new Halo units fail with minimal usage.

I am kidding. Actually I've played Halo 3 and Bioshock for many hours straight...no problem. I keep the temperature in the room at 60 degrees though.

I'm thinkin I'll give the 360 a whirl.........with a warranty!

Fully covered for 3 years...it's been fine for me.
My kids have one and I have my own. :D

33% of Xbox 360's break. 1% of PS3's break. Anyone who hasn't had a problem with their 360 is extremely lucky. 33% is just absolutely insane for a video game console.

Right now, Xbox.

However, after Mass Effect, I don't know if there's a single 360 game worth waiting for. I haven't heard of any.

PS3 on the other hand has MGS4, the new Final Fantasy, Gran Turismo 5, LittleBigPlanet, Wipeout Ratchet and Clank, Killzone, Uncharted all coming out in the next year or so.

Right now, get an Xbox, then when it breaks in a few months, get a PS3.

PC all the way!!! RTS - FTW
Ditto but at this point, I can't swing a new PC so I'm waiting for Q2 in 2008 when PCI-E 2.0 is launched.

The Wii has potential, but no real good games at this time IMO. I haven't turned mine on since at least August.

Twilight Princess, Metroid, Resident Evil 4, and Godfather are all really fun single player games and use the Wii Mote capabilities well.

Mario Strikers Charged is also a pretty solid game IMO especially with online multiplayer...

Guitar Hero 3 and Batallion Wars 2 are both coming out at the end of the month, and both include online multiplayer.

Mario Galaxy will be out in Nov...

Sucks they pushed Smash Brows Brawl back to Feb...

I'm still dreaming that they will release Goldeneye on the VC and somehow make the multiplayer online
