I LOVE this Hamer .
Yep, exactly! I grew up thru that. Hell I didn't even like Les Pauls until Slash showed up, then I was addicted.Gibson was really floundering in the 80’s. Once superstrat fever hit just after the turn of the decade, LP’s etc were going like a fire sale. It wasn’t until GnR that Gibson started to come back into vogue. No wonder they still do so much Slash stuff because he kind of saved them back in ‘88.
Makes sense. Not many would want to buy any other color once white hits. I wouldn’t even be surprised if the price is higher for a white one. But they can’t go higher than what it would cost to get a black one refinished…lolI've read on a few sites Gibson plans to release the white version later this year
Hamer did it better from Day 1.I LOVE this Hamer .
Those Epiphone Korina models are not what they appear to be from everything I've read about them . There is only a very thin shell of real Korina in their construction . I never heard that those body's contain balsa wood but I wouldn't rule it out either , it's definitely not a full on Korina body like they advertise it to be.I was looking online at explorers to see what’s pricing these days and it is mind boggling. 90’s explorers priced like they’re from the 70’s. Epiphone Korina’s are $1299. Shit, they’re made out of balsa wood, If they haven’t changed how they make them from the 90’s. Used to sell those and we had one break and the body wood was the cheapest shit you’ve ever seen. It was the ultimate experience in seeing gold plated shit and lipstick on a hog.
I was just being hyperbolic on balsa, but it just came apart like pressed wood. I couldn’t identify the type of wood but just how everyone in the store was WTF is this crap. It was like, is this a guitar or a TV stand from Target? Those Epiphone Korina models are not what they appear to be from everything I've read about them . I would pass. I tried one a while ago (great used deal) and returned it a few days later. It feels light and cheap in the hands. Plus the bridge was slammed and I still would have wanted the action lower. The pickups weren’t bad though. I got it for 1400 used and still felt I paid too much once I had it in my hands. Just get a Chibson for $275, throw in the pickups of your choice and rock.Looks like the prices have dropped from 2600e to 1900e in Europe recently. Tempting a bit...
Anyone tested multiple? How is the quality? Normal Gibson?

I had a Gison USA black explorer, played great / sounded great but that big wing torques on yer lower back at least mine did.
And with black its hard to see the damn guitar.
It's like, how much more black could this be? And the answer is none. None more black.
