Ok, Lisa. Here is what i think. If it comes down to these two trems winning, I say we just have a vote between the two types, because honestly, I have played a floyd and I love the design, and loved putting strings backwards through tuners, but the feel of the palm sucked. I would love to rock a kahler to see what that is about.

Already on it!

Lisa is there a reason Kahler wasn't an option? IMO they obliterate Floyds.

Part of it is lack of popularity along with build type and part was that few of the vendors for bodies and necks offer it. The ones that do either had very few options for necks/headstocks (trying to stay with same for both neck and body due to differing designs for 24 frets), required multiple piece orders, or couldn't give me a straight answer on simple things like neck angles. The latter was an instant pass and would never use someone who couldn't answer simple questions while offering it. While not super huge on FR myself, the Gotoh 1996 is a gem.

Makes sense, I've never played a Gotoh. That said I know a guy who works for Kahler, does luthier work & knows how to set them up. Anyway, I might be biased, but I can't think of a single way an OFR is better than a Kahler.. Boggles my mind why they're not more popular!

Love the Kahler, rocking maybe half dozen or so right now, and grew up on them pretty much. Like the adjustability and feel of it. Don't find it complicated or agree with most of the myths. Feel like partially lore, people not knowing how to set them up, and the FR having more stage presence are more to blame. Will be offering it as an option on a few of the other builds, though. We'll def see, but not feeling like it's going to be popular.

What we really need is a Wonderbar! :ROFLMAO:

Thanks for the contribution.
Before I was unfairly banned from The Gear page, I had a signature on there: "May your pants always be tan"

I was very proud of that. A few of them were impressed as well, I'm sure.

I mean they are both great designs but the 1996 seems just a tad nicer, it's made it Japan, cost less too.

From all regards it just seems like a great option, both aren't bad and I like Floyds. Never tried a 1996 but given the design and from the looks of it, reading up on them and given an option I'd take a 1996 over a Floyd no problem.
