Definitely have a lot of options, and many I'm not familiar with.
Which is the reason I've asked for input.
Don't want this to be about what I personally like.
I know a lot of members speak highly of the Duncan Distortions, but I don't like them at all.
So, not trying to push my tastes on this build, just offering my own experience and wanting others input.
Your approach is rhe best it can be. Really grateful for all you doing for R-T. Also still use those picks I bought with your prize I won🤘🏻

Yeah, if it was about personal liking, I would like a case of IPA from TreeHouse or Russian River if possible please 😂

I wish I could set up a scientifically correct testings of all things guitar, just wouldn’t be able to stomach those expenses 🥲

I voted in the hopes maybe we can get some JAMES TYLER pickups into this bad boy.

Passive all the way. 9v batteries are for stomp boxes.

You realize your beloved guitars come with a mid boost preamp circuit….what do you think that runs on lololol?

Ironically, the sh-6 is one of the tightest ceramic pickups of all time

Can't explain my distaste for them.
Tight makes sense, because to me they're like a pair of new shoes that never get broken in.
Not feeling the fluidity from one note to the next.
Just apparent and immediate.
Def could be already tight amps on my end is part of the issue. 🤷‍♀️

Not that it matters, but that is the pickup for me and my style/sound.

I just can't find anything that does all that it does, for the price. When it's right, it's right. They could call it buzzwordmcbitchtits and I would still pick it everytime, even if they had the name silk-screened in ALL CAPS.

What if the name was on the bobbins and the pole pieces, though?
Then there was Red Bull and McDonalds logos on each side? :ROFLMAO:

Yep. I don't hear with my eyes. Most of my setup is ugly anyway. Swap McLaren for RB, and Culver's for McDicks, we are golden. 👍

McLaren? Is that new guy your alt? :ROFLMAO: Culvers sounds familiar. Is that like one of those places that's the same round building and goes by different names depending on where you're at in the country?

Probably. I know some of them are black and others have none. If it bothered the winner, I suppose a bit of painters tape and nail polish remover r other that won't harm the plastic should do the trick during a string change. Perhaps some buffing compound? 🤷‍♀️
Yeah I’ve buffed it out before and it looked OK from a distance but was dull instead of shiny.

If you order Custom Shop you can get no logo. I had a Pegasus/Sentient double cream set in a Chubtone that were no logo. But that’s way more money.

That Sentient neck sounded great to me, it’s a similar output as the ‘59n and Jazz but sounds better than either. The Pegasus is good and has a nice balance but imo this guitar needs a meaner bridge pickup. So I’ll defer to those familiar with the Nazgûl and Black Winter, or whatever.

McLaren is a manufacturer and long standing f1 team, which I am a fan of.

I don't have alts. Again.

And Culvers is a Midwest burger chain. They also serve real frozen custard. Very good, for what it is.

Just messing with you because of your signature. :ROFLMAO:
Anyways, gotta get ready for Church.
Y'all have a great day discussing pickups so I don't have to.

I'll have to confer with them about that.
Are those different from custom floor shop?
Because those only ran like $10-20 more per set, irrc.

They are definitely "dry" and not very complex or whatever, and especially with your randall that would be like stacking white on white.

Especially with marshall style amps though, like a 2203/4, or a Laney GH, they can sound very very good.

Back when I played heavy music mostly, I had a fixed bridge MIJ Ibanez Sabre that had a og Bill Lawerence XL-500 in it. I remember liking that a lot.

Reminds me; Def been interested in a few of SD's new rail designs.

These were Custom Shop; MJ wound. I don’t think I’ve ever got a CS that was not MJ wound. I’ve never bought a Custom Floor Shop.

Have a few of her old pickups from the 80s ❤️‍🔥 Looks like I can order whatever pickup with whatever color bobbin, logo/no logo, and a number of other options without having to go through the custom shop. Probably will end up going that route.
