I've always wanted a Suhr or an Anderson, but since I couldn't afford it, I managed to just lay the cash down for a Carvin C66T. It's Carvin's answer to the boutique superstrat line, albeit with less customized features, but I could care less--I'm a freaking university student.

I still want a Suhr Tele...

how do you like that carvin? those c66's look sexy!

I should not have ever sold that 3120

First and last selling mistake I ever make.

RG3120s are so friggin' sweet! I wish that Ibanez would start making the RG3120s with matching headstock, maple/ebony fretboard, fretboard + headstock binding, offside-dot inlays (back to the old days). :inlove:

I'm putting ~$3150USD (taxes + shipping calculated in) for a used Gibson LPC soon and I could get basically any used Anderson or Suhr for that same price... I just friggin' wish that I'm lucky and get a) great sounding b) well finished guitar. That'd be like winning in a lottery when thinking about Gibson. :D

I have no clue, I have yet to receive it. You can be sure that I'll post a full, detailed review when I get it in a few weeks (as it's nearing completion).

The best thing about it is that if I don't like it or if there's any flaws, I can return it no questions asked. :)

Suhrs are cool guitars, and the Reb Beach neck profile is godly. But again, all about the ££££.

I need a way to get hold of the RB profile specs and get someone to make me a clone for one of my Strats. Is this even possible?

How do you think i felt when i lined up my $2400 Suhr against a $400 Ibanez RG3120 and the Ibanez kicked the crap out of the Suhr tonewise.

Well, to be fair, RG3120's usually run around $550-$650 used and new they were $1,000. $400 ones are usually BEAT TO ALL HADES, Scott just passed on a great deal.

Funny, I have NEVER heard anybody say a Tyler guitar is/was clinical.

Well, that's because the maple, rosewood, and alder Tyler uses is from a real, old-growth forest of real trees, while the maple, rosewood and alder Suhr uses is grown in a laboratory from genetically altered cells of real woods, mixed with space age polymers, carbon fiber, and Tupperware. The pickups Suhr uses in Suhr guitars are designed and built by Rockwell in their Strategic Space Defense Dept while the SUHR pickups Tyler chooses to put in his guitars are built by native Americans using all the left over parts of the buffalo that they don't eat.

Then there is the metal used on the frets. At Tyler he smolts them himself from materials from the nickel mine right next door to his workshop. The Wilkinson trems? Totally different. The assemblers of these guitars? At Tyler, he has hired the original crew from the Stadivarius violin factory and at Suhr the guitars are assembled by cyborgs.

So yeah, of course the Suhr guitars feel clinical.

Chubtone, do you mind me asking how much that quilt top one with the Floyd and maple board was? I really like that one.

I traded John Suhr a new Mojave Coyote and a few hundred bucks for it. So I got it direct and had it custom built to my specs.

I'd love to have an Anderson or Suhr with similar specs, but they're so expensive. :aww:

That Wayne is pretty nice, serious work into that body for sure so I would not bitch too much about the price.

In the end just be careful who the hell you listen to on a board and play what ya like.

suhr makes some really great stuff

their prices are way too high for me tho

Good advice Scott. I learned this... Listen to the HOM guys advice on guitars, and you will end up with a killer shred machine, capable of super low action and screaming metal tones :D

Exactly what I was saying!

BTW - that Wayne was 1/3 less than either of my Suhrs...

We do not even listen to each other must of the time   A couple of us were almost screaming at Kage not to sell that GMW strat he had, it sounded freaking awesome and the neck was butter but he perferred his others. I am just lucky that I like what Ralph likes and he is about 110 miles away :D
