Grossman should be fired. Out of a cannon. Into the sun.

He sucks. They aren't going to win anything with him at QB, all they do every week is worry about him blowing the game. That isn't the kind of leader a team needs.

Well, he's still young. I remember how many interceptions Favre had in his first year. Of course, the Packers didn't make it to the SuperBowl that year either...

Now, if the Bears would've had someone like Mike Holmgren has a QB coach, I think Grossman would've done much better this year.

You had me until the Mike Holmgren comment.......and this is based on??????????

It will be very interesting (to those who are actually interested in da Bears), to see who is their QB next fall. Many quarterbacks including Farve have had mediocre starts their first full season. But most of them go under the radar of scrutiny because their team does so poorly. Unfortunately for Grossman he is having to learn how to play in the NFL primetime.

that was an extremely boring game.

I don't understand? There was 6 fumbles in the first half alone! It was anybody's game with turnovers like that.

I don't blame Grossman. Everyone knew he sucked. I blame RON RIVERA~! You have to pressure Manning to beat the Colts. They let him chuck it everywhere all night! STUPID!

PS....I am a huge colts fan. I am livid!!!

It is based on the fact that Holmgren is a great QB coach.

Grossman may be OK in time...ALOT of good QB's have rough early years....they have been searching for a good QB for 21 years..trust me tey have had alot worse..

Blaming Grossman is way too easy, I actually think the Bears defense should shoulder a good portion of the blame as well. It was set up perfectly for them -- Hester runs back the opening kick off for a TD. It's raining. Bears run defense is suppose to be tops. What do the Colts do? Run the ball down their throats with a few dink and dunk passes mixed in. And the Colts got that gift TD to Wayne on a defensive mistake by the Bears. The Colts O-line dominated them. Sure, Grossman didn't look good and made some mistakes, but the Colts controlled the tempo for the majority of the game and crushed them in time of possession. Grossman isn't the type of QB that's you can "ride" -- the running game needs to be going and their defense must come up big. That's what they did all year and exactly what they didn't do yesterday in the Superbowl. That's why they lost.

Farve's first year was in Atlanta :)

Yes, he is a good QB coach, but the statement is still out of left field. The comparison is based on nothing tangeble. It is like saying that Walter Payton was a good running back under Ditka but he would have been a better running back under Jimmy Johnson.
And Farve didn't always shine as a quarterback under Holmgren. Does that mean that Holmgren wasn't a good QB Coach when Farve played poorly, or rather that Farve still had stuff to learn?

First off, let me just say, the Bears got worked, physically beaten on both sides of the ball...hats off to the Colts, the better team.....it was a bit shocking how physical they were.

I gotta agree with Cibyl.....the Bears vaunted Defense got owned.....no passrush, D line got manhandled, Joseph Abbai looked like he'd been in the league 10 years, bad safety play...all around BAD.

Grossman had a horrible game (for the 20 minutes he was on the field), for sure, but this is his first complete season, and he took us to the Superbowl.....did Manning do that? Sure the Defense helped, but Grossman dominated some games in Sept and Oct.....he had just as many 100+ rating games as Manning this regular season. I had the Bears going 9-7 this year...most people in Chicago figured 8-8. I think the guy is a winner.....he just needs a few more years to work on his game.

It's so ridiculous how much hate the guy got from the fans and media....I watched every game this season (and went to the Miami game)......the guy is the future here, not Griese....and we've seen flashes of brilliance.
Chicago fans won't dare blame beloved Urlacher, who made 1 decent play yesterday (tipped pass).

Do you guys know how many guys have been NFL quarterbacks in the history of the NFL and what the odds are to be in the Superbowl as the starting QB?? Heisman winners have not been drafted to play QB in the NFL. Being young with no big game experience and the Defence's inability to stop the Colts on 3rd down was the main issue. Grossman was in a hole that he would not have been able to climp out of.

Yeah he was no Joe Montana last night but for someone that had 24 games of experience and was handed a hole and not being on the field for almost an hour what was he suppose to do?

Not a Bears fan btw........shit Giants fan :D

I'm not a Grossman fan or anything, but for the near term future of the Bears he's the best option. I think he took (and will take in the coming weeks) too much flack this year as well, and happen to think he could be a solid QB for the Bears. He's still young and he does have skills -- it's just gonna take some time. I'm sure Lovie Smith will ignore the shit-talking that will come about Grossman and stick with him for next year. The Bears have a great shot at going to the big game next year again -- they just have to circle the wagons and stay the course.

+1 to your Urlacher comment -- he and the rest of the defense did not "bring it" like they did during the regular season. The better team won.

I know the Giants got hit with major injuries, but what did the NY media say about Eli Manning's play? They're sticking with him, right? He had some horrendous games, and he's been playing for 2 1/2 seasons. Somehow I don't think he would've taken the beating (media wise) Grossman did if the Giants were playing yesterday.

He gets his share of beatings, he plays in the sports media capital of the world :D The owners get it more for putting so much into him, you have to keep hoping that he works out due to the investment. The thing with Manning this the weapons he has, he has far more options than Grossman to help him out.

If I was a Bears fan I would be going after the D for sure, they were the ones that could not stop the Colts.
