I know the Giants got hit with major injuries, but what did the NY media say about Eli Manning's play? They're sticking with him, right? He had some horrendous games, and he's been playing for 2 1/2 seasons. Somehow I don't think he would've taken the beating (media wise) Grossman did if the Giants were playing yesterday.

Eli gets pounded on a regular basis here in NYC. The Giants have to stick with Manning because of the money they paid him and for what they gave up to get him. He will have 2 more years to get things straightened out then he will have some competition for his job.

But yes, you can look at the exact time that the Giants were decimated with injuries where their season took a nose dive. And Eli really missed Amani Toomer, he was a really good #2 reciever. I just hope they have an easier schedule next year.

I'm not a Grossman fan or anything, but for the near term future of the Bears he's the best option. I think he took (and will take in the coming weeks) too much flack this year as well, and happen to think he could be a solid QB for the Bears. He's still young and he does have skills -- it's just gonna take some time. I'm sure Lovie Smith will ignore the shit-talking that will come about Grossman and stick with him for next year. The Bears have a great shot at going to the big game next year again -- they just have to circle the wagons and stay the course.

+1 to your Urlacher comment -- he and the rest of the defense did not "bring it" like they did during the regular season. The better team won.

With the level of Parity nowadays you never know. I'm hearing rumors already of the Bears thinking of trading Thomas Jones. If that goes down then that will be the begining of the end of their winning ways. Cedric Benson showed me nothing in the Superbowl. I don't care if your knee is sprained. It's the Superbowl!! Yeah, I did both in HS too, but I think we're the minority. You know the type: the ones that walked the laps in gym class, wearing their concert shirts, etc. The quiet type that spent 5 hours a day practicing guitar in their basement.

LOL......we called them the "tour shirts"

It was tough, I played basketball and baseball while juggling a band and the schools Jazz band and worked 24 hours a week. My two years in college I was on the practice football squad and got my ass destroyed.
