Guitar Straps

When I got my new LP with no weight relief I wanted a nice wide strap for it. I saw these from Italia Leather Straps and thought there were pretty expensive but they ran a 2 for 1 sale (which they have quite often) so I got one for the LP and one for my Explorer. I don't think I'll ever buy another strap from anyone else again. It's the most comfortable strap I've ever used.

First of all the quality is outstanding and I can't say I've ever felt softer leather. Strong as the day is long and strap locks can be used. I use both Schaller and Dunlop style locks. They are also available in a standard or 4" wide. I needed to buy the extension to make the strap longer but that didn't cost much. If your tall or sling down low, just order the extended length version.

I was using the Di Marzio click lock nylon straps for years and I cringe now when I have to throw one of those over my shoulder these days.

I LOVE the kepur rubber straps, but can't find them anywhere anymore

Anybody ever hear of or use anything from Anthology Gear Wear?
I have two of them and they're awesome. Hidden shoulder cushion is cool. They're saddle leather so they form to u over time.
Cool, thanks for letting me know! I've thought about trying one of theirs for awhile. I think they have some nice designs without being too over-done, if that makes sense. Glad to hear they would be a good option!

I have a few old Ric and Fender leather straps, the real thin ones with the sliding shoulder pad. A few years ago I tried the D'Addario Planet Waves 2" locking guitar straps, cheap, strong and long lasting. I use these on my pointy guitars:

I have a few of their D'Addario Planet Waves traditional leather straps. If you need it longer, get two and you can remove the tail from one and weave it into the tail of the other. I did this back in my punk days so my guitar hung very low - hitting just above my knee, I had to lift it to get to the tone/volume controls, which wasn't a problem cuz they were always on 10 ;)

These traditional leather straps are similar in design to my old punk strap which I still have, just stiffer.

Yeah, a little pricey. I think that, considering all the money that I've spent on guitars, amps, pedals, cables, tubes, etc., etc., that I "should" open the purse-strings a little for a strap. Doesn't necessarily mean I will, or even would, but... I do think a couple of their designs are pretty cool.

I hadn't heard of Italia straps before this thread. Looks like they have some nice stuff, too. Plain, to be sure, but still very nice. Still a little pricey...

I look at it pro-rated for the life of the strap (which is my remaining lifetime) and then its only a couple bucks per year.

Damn, I should get a Wizard with that mindset.

Judging by their contact info they are about a half an hour away from me. I sent them an email to see if they will allow me to drop in and check them out. Thanks for posting the link. I think I might really dig one of theirs.

I cut my own out of old trailer wheel tubes,
little bit elastic is good for my shoulder and make some emotional deeps bends easier.
Fresh quality rubber is hard to find this days, it was better 20-30 years ago.
