I had an AMF HD, Low Rider.
Gibson flaws are american, so acceptablestill more consistent, and better quality than Gibson; my PS120 was MIC, and it's flawless, and zero setup, intonation, etc. was needed.
I've watched a few Trogly reviews of Gibson's; it's funny and sad the way he accepts most flaws as just expected / normal for Gibson.Gibson flaws are american, so acceptable![]()
To be honest I can’t understand how such a brand can’t get their shit togetherI've watched a few Trogly reviews of Gibson's; it's funny and sad the way he accepts most flaws as just expected / normal for Gibson.
Especially for what they charge. Fuck em. They are doctor and lawyer guitars now. My buddy that’s a doctor doesn’t play them though….To be honest I can’t understand how such a brand can’t get their shit together

I mean you might be a worker not connected to guitar world, but at least keep the tolerances intact. Like are they blind or what?Probably most of their employees are just factory line workers and not luthiers or even guitarists.
It’s the prices . The price their guitars for drs and lawyers now . Retsrds like me are fucked .To be honest I can’t understand how such a brand can’t get their shit together

Happy early NGD man! Hope it comes out greatI always liked Gibson, just decided it's not worth the price with the spotty QC. My "Les Paul" guitars are my Ibanez PS10 (I have two, because moer is more)
after decades of avoiding Gibson (I have owned and had good luck with Epiphones over the same decades), I finally bought one; new in the box, sight unseen. Already told my sales rep about my concerns buying a Gibson; if it's not flawless or at least great for the price, it's going back, and I'll try the Epiphone version...maybe.
should be delivered tomorrow.
If only quality grew accordingly. It’s the prices . The price their guitars for drs and lawyers now . Retsrds like me are fucked .
Sucks so badIf you watch some factory tour videos you'll often hear them boast about how little training their workers get as if it's supposed to be impressive that the person painting a $3k+ guitar just started a few months earlier without any experience. They always seem to be training people in those videos, so I'm assuming it's high turnover. Seldom are people wearing protective equipment like masks or hairnets to keep that stuff off of guitars and the guitars sit on racks out in the open with saw dust and whatever else while they cure. Just watch the way people handle the lumber or "select" the tops. It's a joke and there is little to no pride or passion going on. It's a job for them and a lifestyle brand for the rest of us.

For real, this is literally frustrating me.Especially for what they charge. Fuck em. They are doctor and lawyer guitars now. My buddy that’s a doctor doesn’t play them though….
What did you order? Always expecting something Avant-Garde from your NGDs.

Great first real guitar if you ask me. What were the “not real” ones?my first real guitar was a new '78 Gibson LP Custom, black with gold hardware; even then it had fit and finish issues as I recall; being Norlin it felt like it was made of concrete, it weighed a ton. I sold it to help fund my first Harley, and I was using US BC Rich and Steinberger by then.
Before the Gibson LPC I had a Japanese flying V, I remember it was dark red with black wood grain and a large white pickguard, I forget who made it; but it was a good player, and accelerated my guitar playing once I got it, I was around 11-12 years old I think.Great first real guitar if you ask me.
