Has Rig Talk become The Gear Page ?

There is actually one reason I go to the TGP. Strictly Fuzz thread.
If you like fuzz it is one of the best places on the internet.

TGP was anti- boogie. Now Mesa and Marshall are the dominant conversation. You won't find Lay it Down. But you don't see that here anymore either. There is plenty of Metal heads there. But it is pretty much the people from here at Rug Talk.

Rug Talk is great if you look to buy shoes. At least it was. The shoe spam has mostly disappeared.

I play mostly funk. But I did play the heavy stuff back in the day. I moved away from it about the time cookie monster vocals became popular. My band plays some heavy stuff. But it's not really metal. More hard rock. My drummer would play all metal. But me and the bass player play every thing.
I haven't picked up a guitar in about a month. I am playing the mandolin daily these days. Working on a kind of Fleetwood Mac goes Phrygian dominant via Funkadelic.
I listen to more Motown / Supremes than Metallica. Where did our love go ?

Might be time to change the name of the forum to Rectifier Talk ?

As for this thread...I don't take it too serious. But good to see everyone come together and be themselves.

Check out this pedal I picked up. It's kind of a fuzz face if your into English muffins.

Holy sh... wow the shit you people will believe.

I've had multiple jabs. Never had covid. Sometimes my arm itches though. Must be all the microchips rubbing together. :D

It’s not a scientific sample, but the only people in my family/ close circle that have actually gotten Covid (some multiple times) are the ones who got the shot. Fortunately my retired doctor father in law was strongly opposed to me, wife and kids getting the jab. Glad we didn’t. No one is anti-vaccine.. just didn’t want to be test subjects for experimental drug (whether effective or not) where we faced little risk from the underlying disease its trying to prevent

I’m an 8 string lover but I love 60s to modern . So much good shit in every decade . Even pre 60s

oh man you know what you have to do…start playing 60s/70s classics on the lower strings…detuned versions and the boomers will come find you hahahaha

I remember when Rig Talk stayed on topic more. Replies were usually two sentences. It was more open to various types of music.

Now none of this happens and it is pretty much what The Gear Page is without the tan pants. If anything The Gear Page is more like Rig Talk was when it had much more active members years ago. Rig Talk is now a bunch of old codgers exactly like The Gear Page was years ago. The average age is younger at TGP and still has plenty of idiots.

This thread is for entertainment purposes only. All drama is for comedic effect shouldn't effect your bowl movement. Please shit on yourself if necessary.
I immediately took a big shit right on the floor. All is good now. But it smells a bit.

I saw David Byrne years ago and he had professional dancers on stage with him.

Yet the most dancing Ive ever seen on stage was Kip Winger opening for Cinderella in 1990.
Kip is kind of amazing though .... honestly. Very underated and is doing some cool stuff now ...

Full disclosure, not a winger fan AT ALL.
