Have I have been scammed by a member or am I just clutching my pearls too tightly?

As unfortunate as this thread is; it’s actually really good because it means we are all interested in a resolution for you and the next poor soul vs… “ehh too bad”. A nice network of people making sure the forum stays a solid place.

This dude has gone way too long without responding or returning money or item.

This is extremely poor form. Time to drop the hammer and give him an ultimatum. Let him go down in the annals of rigtalk as a known scammer or promptly refund your cash.

I got a sick feeling just reading this as it reminded me of my own fraud incident with paypal... I won't use them ever again and have not since 2017 because of their "no questions asked" buyer return leaving the seller with no recourse. The only saving grace for me is I emptied my account before they could hold it. back then they did not ask for a ss number so the negative balance would never affect my credit.. the thief got away with my amp and the 1600 dollars! I hope you are made whole
PayPal made you refund his money but he never sent you the amp back ?

He claimed he never received the amp when he saw that It was delivered without a signature... the fedex tracking showed "delivered to customer" but despite that evidence ruled for the buyer because there was no signature. It was a lesson for me for sure.. I'll never forget it

Ahhhh. Interesting point. Maybe learning point here. So if I sent something to someone I am comfy with; no signature needed unless they live in shady mcshadesville BUT if I’m sending to an unknown person then signature required for the sender’s safety.

Case in point, Cameron is not in jail and is still alive.

We need to start a thread and pin it to top that are verified not pieces of shit. And we could all verify each member. That is not bulletproof, but could be helpful. @Monkey Man , how realistic is that?
As Japetus said, we have the Bad Guys to Trade With thread and it's already-pinned.

If you want a transaction / trader to stand out, you can always start a dedicated thread in the Buyer/Seller Feedback sub-forum.

I read that one, and it is interesting history no doubt, but much back and forth goes on. @mooncobra gets accused, but turns out that he did nothing wrong. I would deal with moon cobra in a second. So, I think a list in one place not a thread of accusations might be easier, but either way. I guess you could scroll to the recents. I was just looking at a bunch of petty arguments when i clicked on the link.

Yeah. This is why I said get ready for stones being thrown back and forth. We should have a Rigtalk civil court. Based on the evidence this court finds you guilty. !!! Guilty as charged!!! Then they get wall/ halls of shame. 😏. Silly but sad. One of the reasons why I don’t like selling shit.

To be fair, I have had both UPS and Fedex deliver amps I ordered from Guitar Center to completely the wrong address. More than once I have walked around my neighborhood (frantically, sometimes in the middle of the night after getting home from work, even though the package required a signature they just drop it anyway without caring) looking for a big obvious box laying on someone else's doorstep. Luckily I have been able to recover each one, but I could easily see someone taking the box inside and going wow, I can pawn this! and I'd never know any better.

It is suspicious that you didn't get a response quicker. Maybe I'm naive but I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, and I'd be more likely to trust a fellow gearhead over Fedex which notoriously sucks ass (as evidenced by another thread only a page or so back filled with people sharing shipping related horror stories).

Either way, hope it works out and that it's just some miscommunication.

Yup....I've had stuff "delivered" via Fedex to some mystery address and signed for by a complete stranger before.

Hope this gets resolved, glad he at least contacted you. Now the waiting game.
