Well said!!! Tired of all the Egnater bashing as of lately. Its funny how broknstuff is your screen name when you are stating these opinions about people and their broken Egnater tourmaster series gear... pretty classic stuff. Seriously though, I just had Ian help me out with getting a D/D module made for me through them and shipped off to Indoor Storm, couldnt ask for better communication despite my impatience... they handle their end pretty well from my point of view.

I'm a nobody in the guitar world, yet every time I've contacted Egnater I've had a response. I bought a mod50 second hand, and needed a repair a few months later, and they took care of it really fast and cheap (they even threw in a new set of tubes free of charge, when I forgot to ship them the old ones, and their price included the return shipping to South Florida).

This pissing and moaning when a company changes isn't unique to Egnater. Yeah, it's nice to have a local mom and pop shop where they know you by name. And honestly, I think Egnater still retains that ease of communication (I've PM'd Ian a few times and he's always responded, and honestly, I don't know how often it was worth his time to answer my little questions). No one bitches about Marshal or Fender not listening and bending over to their every will and need. With small companies, like the handmade egnater line, the wait lines were/are long. Same for small time luthiers (go over to TGP and read about wait times of 2,3, 5+ years for a guitar). Larger companies will rarely have that shortage or weight lines (when was the last time you couldn't find a Line 6 product).

I was absent for the forum for about a year or so, and during that time it was announced that the modular line was on hold for the moment, and I learned that some people jumped shipped because they "didn't like" the new changes. I found that baffling. Does the amp you have still sound amazing and do what no other amp can do? The answer for me is a resounding yes, so why would I sell it? If people followed that same logic, we should have all stopped buying Fender and Marshall amps when they discontinued classic 'grail' models, and no one should look for those old amps again.

It's nice to support a small time company who's product you love. But I don't support egnater just because they're small (or their modular line at least), but I support it because it's the absolute best amp I could ever imagine owning or playing. It's expensive nature meant I sometimes had to buy second hand to afford it, but I still got no less respect or support from the company.

Honestly, the bitching and whining is getting a bit old and annoying. None of my post is targeting anyone in particular, nor am I referring to or insulting anyone's intelligence. It's the collective nature and sum of it over the last few months. It's all much to do about nothing. The company still supports all their products and will make repairs if needed. They haven't abandoned the modular line, it's just on hiatus. They still are active on the forums and answer questions.

Yeah I want an E2 as bad as anyone else, but guess what? It's not out yet (yeah I'll talk about how I can't wait for it to be out, but that's just out of excitement). In the meantime, I'll wait patiently and rock out on my Mod50 and love every second of it.

BTW: their GC line has some good sounding stuff and great price. The TM2x12 sounds as good, if not better, than the CAE 2x12 I got and it's way cheaper. It's a phenomenal 2x12, at any price, and luckily it's an affordable one.

i share your reaction. but for many bedroom players (i often play in my bedroom myself) it's seems to be more a question of brand names, identity, flavour of the month (year, decade) or whatever, than actual tone or useable tools (regular TGP syndrome).

if you have a legit complaint about customer service, fine. if not : roll eyes :

has your modular rig changed tone wise since egnater started selling rebels and tweakers? if not: shut up and play your guitar! (or get a life in some other way.)

.

I don't feed the Trolls........but I will poke them with a stick.

TCC, you are a JERK.

If you loved the amps so much you could keep them and have a local tech fix them if they had issues. You sure in the hell can't send a Marshall back to Great Britain and get it repaired.

There were a bunch of "ship jumpers" when Bruce made his announcement which is really silly.

The MTS is the most versatile tube preamp/amps ever made. They will always have a home at my house.
:gethim: You Will Have To Pry My M4 From My Dead Cold Hands!! :gethim: Good luck getting it away from me then.

Egnater Forever!!

I have to say, that everytime I called or emailed customer service they responded anywhere from immediately to 24 hours (at the most). They always made time to take my calls and answer my questions. I did sell my Rebel 30, which was my choice. Part of me wishes I had held onto it, but the in the 6 months I owned it it was in the shop 3 times for 3-4 weeks each time! That part was not Egnater's fault, the shop I took it to was just that busy & backed up. The Rebel 30 extinguished all GAS I had for finding THAT perfect tone, TME. That said, I haven't found anything that can match or best that tone, except for maybe the Renegade.

As a long time Egnater designed product user (presently own a Rocktron TOL100, Rocktron IE-4, Randall RM100, & RM4), I wanted to add my experience with Bruce Egnater. I have contacted Bruce on a few occasions, including one very recently and have always received stellar support.

Bruce has taken time out his busy schedule to help me out each time - and his company didn't even build these particular products - they were designed by him, but were actually manufactured by Rocktron and Randall.

I sincerely appreciate the innovative products Mr Egnater produces as well as the outstanding support he has given me through the years. Thanks Bruce !

egnater is a threat to the big boys, out there. egnater has changed everything, great tone at a great price and great innovation - simple bias- use any power tubes- run different power tubes in one amp - adjustable power - TWEAKER - on and on, cool stuff. These complaints are starting to sound like BS.

I can understand the sentiment of the OP in this thread...but screw the whining, I just want my E2....poor COD module ChB is feeling all neglected \m/

I think a lot of it comes down to this: Do we want a lot of new products that may or may not have quality/design issues, just so we can celebrate something new for a while, or would we rather let the Egnater team make sure that what leaves his shop with his name on it is the same, bullet-proof gear we've come to expect from them.

$.02

it all comes down to if we're talking lifestyle commoditites or musician's tools.

some of us use and need great amps. other people want designer kitchen appliances.

if you think you need a certain brand to make you cool, you'll never be cool anyway.

just give up.

.

the fact that this guy never came back to talk about or answer anything says it all right there......

Yeah... In recent months there has been a rash of 1st time posters complaining about the products, complaining about C.S., complaining about where the amps are made, spending time venting here instead of actually trying to get their problem solved, etc.

It's almost like they're following a script. Not that it isn't possible to be a first time poster with a legit problem. But... :scared:

well, my experience is, every time i've had a question either Bruce, Ian or Nate have answered, and while it may have taken a minute, i've gotten my answer...only once did i get an unclear answer, and even then, it was clarified.

that right there is enough to keep my business.

+1

I contacted Egnater with a strange request regarding a mod to my TM. Bruce responded in about 2-3 days.
As Ive said in a previous post in this thread, Mesa, Fender Marshall never returned an email and PRS took three months.
It surprised me that Bruce took the time to respond to my email. I sent it to Ian to start with which indicates to me a company that has good internal communications and a group of people who care about their product.
The only other company that replied to my email in short time was Heritage Guitar Inc.
