Got in touch with Henric and have a build slot :2thumbsup:...

would like to get some advice/recommendations from 5GS Hermansson Marshall owners on the different 3 way switches he offers

1. preshape switch
2. punch range switch
3. presence range switch
4. bright switch
5. mid-boost switch
6. more mids/dark switch

what do you find is worth it and what do you find yourself not using?

I'm not into tweaking once I find my tone, I'll just plug in and play and never turn knobs ever again...so my inclination is to go as simple as possible but want to get some opinions here.

thank you

I have a 3gs with all switches and Preshape
it's the only one that FOR ME doesn't have much use...
I always have it on top because the other 2 positions make the amp very bassy and not very tight...
maybe with single coils it's useful...

So I have all switches for mine. Got it like that in case I ever need to sell for whatever reason and for tweakability. Essentially how I like mine set is all switches to the middle position. Dont know if that is how he sets the amps without the switches or not…

Are the switches 3-way?

I'd also prefer no switches at all. How long is your wait time?

Is the wait for the Marshalls still 3-5 years?
I'm interested in the wait time as well.

as of this morning, he said he could start in a few weeks...don't know how many slots that equates to being open. I didn't ask how long it would take from starting but took a slot.

thanks all for the advice on the switches, much appreciated!

The waiting time for me was 3 years...
It took a long time for Marshall to modify because he has the workshop in his own house and with 2 small children hanging around it can be dangerous...
Modifying MesaBoogie was less complicated and did not involve as much risk...
Once he starts the mod it is a great experience and he sends photos of the progress almost daily...
it takes 1 month...more or less.

That's very long. Are you happy with yours? Do you have Clips?

I think at this point it’s timing with him. Could be a long wait or could be a week and a half like my deal just randomly. He works very fast when your amp is on the table though

Regarding the switches: Did you decide yet?
If not, a burpsnart might be relaxing.

But how will you find your tone without all of the tweakable options?

Don't have one but based on the names alone the more mids/dark switch and punch sound most appealing. If it were me buying, I'd get them all.

Additional 85$ per Switch
