Hermansson Mesa Dual Rectifier Multi Watt - Question

I've seen two for sale in Europe in the last few months. The one from Sweden was on reverb for more than 8 months , maybe sold now. The one you are interested in has been sitting for a while as well. I just think these builds aren't for anyone mostly because people expect to get an ultra tight rectifier - no boost needed - but the amp ends up being something completely different. It's not a recto anymore. His clips sound amazing and I think part of this has to do with his kick ass playing.
I have one of these . It’s amazing . You can’t eq like a recto or any amp for that matter . Fuzz goes out with volume . It works like an old Marshall . Mine does

I didn’t have the multi watt but I owned a 3 channel Hermansson mod. I still have a 2 channel which is more versatile because it has a designated tight knob and it’s preset on the 3 channel.

With that said that price is great. The price to ship and mod is very steep. If you like the sound in henric’s videos the amp is true to that. Very tight. Very fast. Still has amazing play feeling. Does clean to mean. But again, modern. It does not sound like a recto. It has its own thing going on. But pure metal machine. Not hyper thick though.

Rebuild price is 1250 with no extra features and doesn’t include shipping both ways. Plus amp cost.
I found I can get mine hyper thick with the mids half way up , bass on 3 and treble on on 4 . With the master volume almost maxed . Then channel volume where needed to keep the fuzz out

hmm, not sure if it's a recto anymore, but dayum! 😍

Yes, they become their own thing that is killer in their own way with some little remnants of the recto sound in there in the background. All the Hermansson's I've played (owned 5, tried 3 others) have that very distinctive sound and feel

This clip that Mr. Woodchuck posted is the best i heard yet. Henrics in the room clips are always lacking something and the one comparison he did, did not let his amp shine. I thought the modded one sounds thin and brittle in comparison. The one im looking at is online since the end of July.

I had a single recto with tightness control that was a cool amp… but it ultimately wasn’t for me. it’s not that it was a bad amp, I just preferred a dirty tree into my old rev e making it like the cannibal corpse blood thirst tone or like whitechapels tone. And I think just naturally in my head I have my idea of how a recto should sound and it’s very hard for me to divert from that.

I’ll add Judging by your clips and how you usually dial things in I don’t know that it’d be a good fit for you either. Specifically
Your Uber and recto clips. But for the pricing why not try it?

I am having a Marshall 5 GS built by hermansson currently to see if it’s more my thing. I’m excited for it, should be cool! Ultimately I want to try everything then see what I dig the most. I really need to get back to recording and all that. Life’s been busy lately.

IDK Badlander is on offer new at Thomann's. JP2C+ Reissue is coming. And when i crank my 2203, given i have a good day, like today :D it's all i ever need. On a bad day i say to myself: The 800 is totally sufficient to make me deaf. So why bother? It just gets me from time to time and i'm still interested in trying new Amps. I guess i would have problems to get my money back, if i decide to sell it again and i think i would see it like you regarding the sound anyway. More often than not one already knows what will happen with the "new and totally awesome and exciting amp" even before one buys it.
