Hello all! It's easy to get lost in a sea of amps so maybe yall would know. Background I play live 2-3 shows a month in a pop punk band and I record my own heavier music on the side.

I'm looking for a hi gain amp with a usable clean channel with the cam sim IR out for my in ears and foh signal because I don't like micing up my cab every rehearsal/show, reducing the amount of gear traveling and set up/break down time.

I prefer 50w because that's enough power for me and I could use with a 1x12 as well as the bigger cabs.

I like recitifer / 5150 sounds so I've been eying that Driftwood Mini Nightmare IR with the IR, built in TS and gate, but before I commit to that purchase I'd like to do more research.

I own a badlander 50 which is alright but the gain doesn't scratch the itch, I've learned it's not a traditional rectifier. And a Runt 50 which is great for mid/lower gain applications.

Recommendations are appreciated, TIA!

I have a Rivera Clubster Royale Recording Top-25w and it is absolutely killer. The clean is epic, huge, lots of headroom. Gain can be tight, throaty, articulate. They make a 50w version but I haven't needed it. It's a loud 25w and the silent out stuff is really nice for foh and recording.

Gonna look into this

Alternative recommendation:

Buy a Suhr RLIR and run any amp you like with it.
Yeah I have a captor x that I have used with a 6505 and a Dual Rec live before, but my goal is to reduce gear bringing with me, it's 2024 this stuff should become standard lol

Revv Generator but this forum hates Revv. The new 120W RevB version just came out and a 50W version.

The Engl Ironball 25 is an amp I've been looking at for direct recording options on the road. Has an internal attenuator and onboard IR loader you can use to load up 4 IRs at a time, plus they have 3 of their own IRs loaded which don't sound very good to me. Good high gain sounds and a useable clean channel. 25 watts though so might not be enough for you depending on what you play.

IMHO, the TwoNotes Captor technology should be in every amp these days- like Revv is doing. That said, if you dig your current amp, just go buy a TwoNotes Captor X and incorporate it into your setup. I've been gigging with one since 2020. It has made a huge difference in my live tone consistency.

I have the Driftwood Mini Nightmare. The gate is not good. The boost is nice and the amp sounds good. Slightly stiff in feel.

I wish 25 was enough, because of the clean parts I play live I need the 50w headroom
